I am so disappointed. This was going to be the time where Mundine would have proven his greatness to everyone and not just me.

Why does the check say September 14 then?
and yeah, I just saw the boxing scene story. The promoter confirmed Mosley had to get paid before the fight.
Umm u actually think they do business using commercial paper? Those funds are transferred from account to account electronically. The check u see there is little more than a pay stub used to keep track of and reference of receipt of payment. Or are u saying u actually think Floyd goes to a bank to cash that check...smh.
we need to know for sure before we can speculate then I guess, and Oscar doesnt hand floyd the check till after the fight.

We do know because Oscar said he has to wire him the money before the start of the fight
He already had at least a $300k guarantee to him though. He's not going to see anywhere near that amount of money if he comes to the US to fight. And it's not clear if they were really contractually bound to pay Mosley so much before the fight.
if i'm promised a million, i want a million. not 300K.
jeff fenech saids he was promised it up front.

A 40 million dollar raincheck
That's not true. Floyd gets his guaranteed money before he fights as does most of the big names in boxing. Common knowledge, I'm surprised it has to be said.

They didn't pay the mil he was contractually promise, so he left. Not a surprise, this was expected. Did the right thing IMO

how do they know for sure he wasnt gonna get paid that amount? or whatever amount it was if he doesnt fight. You dont ever get paid before the fight.
and fight not till Wednesday/
Hell even Mayweather guaranteed money is not handed to him till after the fight.
I think their contract said he must be paid by today
Floyd gets his guaranteed money before his fight
Didn't he get $300k in escrow though? That's still more than what he would have gotten for an Ortiz fight. And Mudine is an easier fight than Ortiz. He could sued for the rest later.

When the fight was announced, I thought the 1million to Mosley was waaayyyyy too good to be true. Seems like it was.
Sucks. I wasn't going to watch, but these guys put in the work for nothing.

"Future Hall of Famer"? he's a steroid cheat.
WOW. I wasn't gonna watch it anyway cuz it was a wednesday, but wow. This is surprising. I was expecting to read "Mosley escapes with narrow, controversial SD" on Wednesday night
