Both these guys have made a name for themselves this year,,
Both have bright futures,,,
Both are TR affliated
I think once crawford becomes 135 champ, he will move up and ruslan could still be champ at 140,,,
How do you think this fight goes,,,
In all honesty, i like crawford to outbox him
Prescott and Prov are two completely different fighters. Prov appears to be more accurate, more powerful, more determined to just come forward and cut off the ring. Prescott can punch, but he has a tendency to hop around the ring following is opponent and he's a bit sloppy and inaccurate with his punches.
From what have I seen from Prov against two top level fighters, he indeed makes them fight that way, as he claims, and actually shows it - that it is actually him that has the ability to draw a boxer into a fight. He does this because he leaves them no choice, he is all up in your face and you have no place to run or hide. He is very good at cutting off the ring, he's not a regular tough, hard chinned brawler who follows his opponents around.
Anyway Provodnikov vs Crawford bores me to death just typing about it. Crawford can't even look exciting against lesser, smaller, outmatched opponents who can't hurt him, I really don't care to see him right now, maybe i'll root for him if he gives in a better performance against a good fighter. I mean my favorite fighters are boxers, and I couldn't stand Crawford vs Klimov.
Same could be said about bradley, and bradley had FOTY with ruslan,,,
I think this is a great style matchup and would result in fireworks,,,,,
And i realize that prescott and ruslan are different fighters, but that was in response to to someone who said he needs to fight at 140 before he fights ruslan,, Crawford has done that and i think prescott is about as good as your going to get in terms of a stepping stone to get use to the weight,,
If Alvarado frustrated Prodvoklan a super skilled crafted fighter like Crawford would beat him 12-0.There is no way in hell Crawford pitches a shutout and using Alvarado is not a good example because every fight offers a different set of dynamics.
he fought prescott at 140, and was a late substitute

Let crawford fight at 140 first? Fighting a ****in bull like prov for your first 140 fight is suicide.

Good point, but i scratch that up to inexperience for crawford,,, yes he should have gotten klimov out of there, but crawford dominated,,, Its not like he was in any danger,,,,
To add, what a lot of people don't realize is that he boxed southpaw and sacrificed power for defense. I don't know why he did it. Probably because Klimov had no answer fot it but he has good power out of his orthodox stance.
I don't if he plans on continuing to do that or continue to switch hit in the future.
Not every night is a great night.
He controlled every round in that fight,
He did what he needed to do. He won.
Impress later.
The guy has the frame and body style to make 147 small like floyd, and him and
Vasquez have expressed wanting a big fight at 140 ,cause both wanna move up.
This is the risk sport. All or none .
Imo this fight is there if crawfords people want it
He's good, but where was his versatility against Klimov?
The guy obviously couldn't hurt him but he decided to pay it safe to not ruin his chances. That is at 135 against a guy who can't hurt him. Imagine at 140 against a guy who's hurting WW's and 157pounders, breaking dudes wills. How will Crawford fight then? I imagine he'd fight terrified.

Perfect fight for crawford to get a belt and make a splash
And get his name out there to the big names.
People better pay attention, crawford is one of the most versatile fighters in boxing and tim bradley vouches for him

Crawford still has unfinished business at 135.
But when he moves up I would pick him to win on points. Arguing over resume is a waste of time for obvious reasons as Crawford is basically still a prospect.

Ruslan is more than a "test" for some nobody boxer. Crawford might be a "test" for Ruslan but not the other way around
For once, I do agree with you.
Provodnikov could arguably have a TKO over Bradley if the ref wanted to go by the rules (counting out a fighter if he falls from a punch, stands up, and falls back down), and his TKO over Alvarado give him the edge for me. Crawford's win over Prescott was okay, he frustrated Prescott and outboxed him but it was just one of those fights that the loser's stock stayed the same.

I know what Provodnikov is so he doesn't need testing by a guy like Crawford, Crawford on the other hand is an unknown so it would be a test for him.

Sorry but from the first round of Alvarado-Prov, it was obvious how the fight was going to end up. The fight looked like Round 7 of Cotto-Margarito I, in the very first round. Where you knew the momentum was always gonna go towards Prov. Alvarado prolonged the inevitable just a little bit, but he was 157lbs, had a height and reach advantage, and is also very powerful, and none of that could stop Prov. Crawford right now is largely untested at 135, he's small, has shown little power and we've yet to see his chin tested.
It would be an interesting test for Crawford
