Not a bad list although i personally would have Froch at number 1 and swap Grabomir Clinchsko for Golovkin.
Is that not stretching that a bit far. Maybe if Froch added the scalp of Ward...but right now that can't be. Golovkin is verging on being a top 10 fighter but he needs a Martinez fight or at the very least a string of highly competent middleweights.
I agree with your P4P list to certain extend.
Not a fan of Bradley and I know he lost to Pacquiao but I would still put him above Martinez. Why? Cause of Martinez's inactivity and lets face it, while Bradley lost to an elite fighter, Martinez lost to a fringe contender in Murray. And prior to Pacquiao, Bradley's resume was already solid and now you add Marquez to it so yea.

You believe Murray beat Martinez? That is quite an unusual stance. Murray did very well early on but he tapered off in the second half of the fight, was it fitness? or was it the fact that Martinez, who hits very hard, was starting to find the target? Either way, Murray didn't do enough down the stretch to warrant a win, I think he accepted that too, quite unlike post Strum.
Who fights Golovkin next?
And Garcia is another young man, underdog in some fights, who deserves his place amongst the best. the way he so thoroughly neutralised one of the hardest hitting men in the sport shows how good he is. He isn't quite ready for Mayweather or Pacquiao but he is verging on being a truly elite fighter.
Hahahahaha I will be careful.
adonis, heard he'd be ... hold on ... what the hell am i talking about.

Ok but how long ago was that fight? Lets put roy Jones on your list because of his great work a decade ago.
Having spoken to you over the last few minutes, I know you are far too intelligent to believe that is the reason I have Pacquiao on my list. But I will indulge you.
Pacquiao's string of victories since moving up from lightweight made him go from being on the bottom half of many p4p lists to becoming number 1 or 2 on most people's lists. His "loss" to Bradley did nothing for me to drop him further down the list. The Marquez KO however has made me drop him a few places, but it is not enough to have him drop off the list. If, and this is highly unlikely, he loses to Rios, then his place on a p4p list will be questionable.
Till then, I firmly believe that pound for pound, Pacquiao beats the vast majority of fighters on the planet, that is what a p4p list was designed to showcase.
He fights Ggg next, right?
If he beats him then you have an impressive list.
Kudos for having garcia in there.

Welcome aboard, Mister.
Hope you grabbed your waders.
The bullshit runs thick in here.

I was not sold on Garcia until he ktfo Khan and beat up mathysse.
I can understand JMM being either 9 or 10, I just felt that Stevenson's recent run and the way he went about it was more deserving of a place. I also believe being the number one fighter in a division should provide more accolades, especially considering that Stevenson was a huge underdog and relative unknown just a few months earlier.

I'm not mexican lol. and manny never beat marquez twice, he'd beaten him once, marquez was robbed blind in the 3rd fight.
I was at the 3rd fight, one of the few fights I've seen live after changing profession in 2002, and it was very, very close. Much like you, I had it for Marquez too but it was by a single, solitary point. When I said two fights, I meant the first bout, in which one of the judges did not add his scorecard correctly. I can't quite remember if team Pacquiao ever appealed the decision but it really should have been changed to a Pacquiao win.
actually, that's a pretty solid list. i'd take out stevens and replace with JMM, though.

Diaz as a weak beaten champion and casa was ancient.
If you're talking about achievements then pacqious did more.
I agree with this entirely.
Beating Diaz and Casamayo for the lightweight titles and being the first real LW champ from Mexico since Chavez you mean.
Again, how is Manny still on there, after being knocked out? and not Marquez at all. It's just a bad list, that's all.
Both Diaz and Casamayor are far from names to take the breath away. They were always good, nothing more, nothing less.
As I mentioned, Manny Pacquiao is still up there based on his level of opponent and the fact that his skill set allows him to be more competitive and probably beat any fighter not named Floyd Mayweather from 140-147. The Marquez KO was a great achievement for the Mexican legend but he had already been beaten by the Phillipino legend twice before.
I can understand that you, as a Mexican would like some Mexican representation on the list but it just isn't possible, would you really remove Pacquiao from that list in favour of Marquez? Keep in mind that Pacquiao has only one legitimate loss on his record since losing to Morales, having decimated much bigger men in Cotto, Hatton, Margarito and company?

Greetings & welcome, I'm guessing you got about 20 years on me but I'm also from Manchester (or should I say Macnester - guess spellin' ain't a journalistic requirement then?).
Sounds like you got some decent stories to share. If the idiocy on NSB boxing gets too much, you can always try the classic forum or lounge.
See ya round.
Did I spell my own home city incorrectly? haha I apologise.
Just a quick intro about myself:
I was born and raised at a time when Muhammad Ali was the biggest name around, no wonder I fell in love with the sport. And then, in 1983 I visited Las Vegas for the first time and saw Roberto Duran v Marvin Hagler live ... sort of haha. Fight week and fight night in Vegas is unlike any other sporting event I have ever covered.
3 years later I was working and a small time local news paper back home in Manchester and due to some staff lay-offs I found myself the sport editor of the entire newspaper. By 1990 I was working for sports at The Sun, the next 7 years were probably the wildest of my life, I got to follow Tyson, Lewis, Chavez Sr, Oscar...but all good things have to come to an end.
Since then I've been working as a free lance reporter on boxing/football/rugby/MMA, my articles are soon to be published in the form of a sports book but I can't say much about that just yet.
So, that's all about me, I'm sure you will all get to know me better over the next few weeks and I'm sure I will get to know some of you better too.
The following is my current P4P Top 10 List because you know us writers love lists:
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. The most sublime technician on the planet.
2. Andre Ward, much like Hopkins before him, highly underappreciated in his prime.
3. Sergio Martinez, the third best middleweight I have ever seen live.
4. Timothy Bradley, a resume almost second to none with tonnes of heart to back it up.
5. Manny Pacquiao, still one of the greatest fighters ever who will soon prove he still has some fire in the engine.
6. Wladimir Klitschko, the most underrated heavyweight champion I have had the opportunity to cover.
7. Guillermo Rigondeaux, his dissection of a supremely gifted fighter such as Donaire is THE performance of 2013.
8. Carl Froch, the best fighter from these shores since a young Calzaghe.
9. Danny Garcia, this young man has all the tools to be something special.
10. Adonis Stevenson, for his domination of two of the best 175 pound fighters on the planet, he deserves this spot.

I pressed F3 on my keyboard, saw that u didn't mention Rios and decided not to read ur post. For an old guy you're not very wise, but I'm sure you have a cool accent. There's actually a 60 year old h0mosexual on this website who's company you may enjoy, his name's reloaded.
Welcome aboard mate
Hahahaha thank you.
I honestly believe you are joking about Rios
