This is for all the people who were surprised than me and other members were not impressed with Lomachenko's pro debut. Here's a gif breakdown of his flaws :
Stationary upper body, easy to hit with bodyshots, particularly the right hook to the body which Ramirez landed almost everytime :

Notice he threw the uppercut from too far away and then covered up as he got countered with a combination. Here he makes the same mistake again :

Doesn't move his head after he's done throwing and gets caught :

People should have listened instead of making excuses for Lomachenko. Sure he has all that amateur experience but people forget something big, pro fighting is a totally different game. For all that experience he has in the amateurs, that means he has to unlearn somethings he became used to doing and that takes a decent amount of rounds.
How he was being moved people should have saw the issues.
Still he can be a very good fighter he just needs to gain a true pro style. He was competitive with a solid pro with a garbage style, so i do want to see where he takes things from here.
I hate to say I told you so...
But I give him credit for the last round and the way he carried himself during and after the fight.
Great breakdown and prediction.. Thumbs Up..:biggthump
Glad I am not the only one who wasn't overly impressed with him.
Defense consists of an earmuff guard with a three way twist, he did the same thing all night.
No real snap on his shots, hes not a crisp puncher in my eyes.
People go on he won medals and a Val Barker trophy all day long but I am not seeing what I'd expect really from a guy with such experience and amateur credentials.
His defense and flawed punching technique is similar to Amir Khans.
Hes a very good prospect but hes far from the finished article and people need to drop this Rigondeaux superfight talk because Rigo would eat him alive. Let him mature and come into his own. The worst thing you can do is push him to fast.
More proof that fans of RiGODeaux are the only people here who understand the sport.
i thought he was a little too conservative this fight :/...
Every time he opened up he got hit, and hit hard. He has no inside fighting ability, which is why he illegally held/pushed off the entire fight.
I hate to say I told you so...
But I give him credit for the last round and the way he carried himself during and after the fight.
Great call and nice break down

This is the same reason why I said he wasn't impressive and people got butthurt as f*ck. Their reply was "Its his pro debut!"
Ok but didn't they say he was ready for the pros and make him out to be some type of P4P fighter?
Exactly, they're trying to have their cake and eat it too. If Lomachenko is truly special and the future P4P #1 then he should have looked amazing, not just "good for a pro debut".
I think some people are actively looking for flaws in Loma owing to the hype.
But, you could isolate certain parts of any top 10 PFP's boxer's fights and find similar "flaws". Nobody is perfect.
I don't expect perfection, I'm just saying I'm not impressed and I explain why. He could turn out to be a great fighter, who knows? Many all time greats showed a lot of flaws early in their career.

Lomachenko is in trouble here. Not only is he going from 3-4 rounders to a 12 rounder, he's also facing a guy that just can't be put away and keeps a constant pace.

I think so too, but props to him for trying. I also get where your dislike for him comes from.
I don't really dislike him tbh. Like OP said, only reason I said he wasn't impressive is cause I was going by his fans' standards. They were making him to be one thing and he gave us another. No doubt it was a good win for a debut fight tho.

Like what exactly? He's not any more aggressive than he was in the Cordoba fight either, as we saw from the middle rounds in the Donaire fight.
Could've been the trainer maybe?

I think it's more comfort with the pro format, and more confidence in his stamina and chin over the distance. Pacing is the main thing this guys have to mind when stepping up so fast, though this was never really a problem for Rigo

well if we're gonna go the rout of "he's not impressive visually but he wins" we will need to see him 20 fights in..........he's one fight in against a bum and people are already calling him p4p.
I meant so far as in amateur and wsb

It was an exceptional start. Let's just see how he gets on in future.

He improved on something since an SD in a runjob over Cordoba doesn't translate to a dominant UD over Donaire. Lomachenko doesn't need to improve on technique anyway, he beats just about anyone below welter on that. He'll have a massive advantage here on Salido, still might not be enough to win.

He needs to get use to the pro game, am a lomo but I can take a critic who analyse thing in the right way, I too use to thing he can do damage early in his pro career but after watching him on Sunday (Even though I was impress) I thought they shouldn't rush him into Rigo or salido just yet.

Did Rigo improve since Cordoba? He's 6 years older
Technically? Not in my eyes.
