the kiss of death for a boxer in boxing,,, if you hear one of these 2 things, then bet on the guy to lose...
1. When they hype you as the next tyson or floyd or some other great.. Example: remember when richard schaffer jumped into the ring and on the mic proclaimed lucas to be the next manny... I posted after that happened that would be the kiss of death for lucas,, and sure enough didnt get another win
2. In a big fight and buddy mcgirt is in your corner,,, you have no chance, he will throw in the towel by the 9th round every time....
anymore kiss of deaths you guys can think of

9. When Oscar hands you the blueprint
This:boxing::boxing:
When you overlook your opponent, talking up a storm, thinking you're going to get a crack at Mayweather (Amir Khan)
Still can't forget Kellerman saying Linares reminds him of Duran.
I forgot who else he did it too, I believe he compared Stevenson to some great, that had me laughing.
Recently he mentioned Terrence Crawford's name in the same sentence as Pernell Whitaker.

I somewhat feel this sentiment. He is not a bad trainer though.
James Mcgirt Jr lost his first in Miami, That night I remember seeing Buddy sr walking back to his car which was not too far from where I parked, and was clearly disappointed after seeing his son get TKOed. Felt very bad for the guy.
LOL you say that like he had 100 fights since, he had one fight lol.
but Number 2 is right on, if you want to have a career in boxing you gotta keep Mcgrit out of your corner
Ok, true, lucas has had only one fight,,,, but if you check my post history, i did say that was the kiss of death for lucas when schaffer jumped into ring and made his proclamation..... I did favor lucas over danny, but boom,, lucas loses......
8. if you beat a promoter's/network's hyped fighter
we never saw Ishida on HBO after Kirkland, Pirog after Jacobs and now Rigo after Donaire
9. When Oscar hands you the blueprint
3. If Teddy Atlas predicts you're gonna win
4. when a fighter talks about retiring
5. if your promoter is 50 cent
6. if you fight like Carlos Molina
7. If you are extremely popular and hyped on the BoxingScene message board (i.e. Pacquaio, Matthysse, Alvarez).
