Official Scorecards:
Wlad vs Haye = 108-118, 109-117, 110-116
Wlad vs Povetkin = 119-104, 119-104, 119-104
General consensus is most people were greatly disappointed in Haye's toe infused non performance and fish flapping over the canvas via a few borderline phallus to cornrow head moments.
Is there an argument to say Haye was more competitive? If I ignore all the prolonged pre-fight hype and the Toegate nuclear fall out, the rounds in the actual fight were fairly competitive (mostly decided on the Wlad jab).
Discuss, flame, do your worst NSB
haye obviously ... povetkin showed more heart but after the first few rounds never looked to be in with a shot. Haye was in the fight all the way through and at no point did wlad really seem to be dominating him ... just doing enough to win the rounds (which were close and competitive) but not beating him down and leaving him battered and bruised ala povetkin.
Now if you put povetkin's heart in Haye's body then you'd have somebody to give wlad a real rough night.
Haye easily, he had 50% of the right game plan, the other 50% was wrong
Pov should have learned from Haye to go for the body
Haye said that was his mistake, the body was there to be hit, cant believe Pov was head hunting and then being leaned on
He dodged Wlads jab a number of times, but he went for a swing up top, should have just cracked him in the ribs
One thing is for sure Wlad cheated 100 times more in this fight
Clearly Haye.
Wlad struggled to land anything but jabs most of the way, was cautious of Haye's power and speed and was caught with a few big shots which forced him to hold...as opposed to just holding for the sake of it. The rounds were close, Wlad edging them with jabs.
Povetkin walked forward, got smacked in the face with jabs, straights and hooks while landing nothing in return. It was also an even worse fight.
