Beating up journeymen 154 ponders doesn't prepare you for Ward, it would be like Lucas beating Molina and Demarco at 135 and people asking if he beats Floyd. 12-0 Ward, honestly I'm not sure Golovkin beats Bika or La Bamba, what has Golovkin done to deserve this respect.
Macklin and Proksa were both ranked. Proksa isn't a good fighter to look good against and he just ragdolled him.
I favor Ward as of now but we'll see how they look in their upcoming fights
based on what we've seen so far you have to favour ward. i don't think this is a fight golovkin should be rushed into; let him clear out middleweight and fight someone like froch at 168 lbs first.
I don't know about that, Froch has been hurt before (Taylor, Kessler, Dirrell), it would certainly be an intriguing fight. I don't think GGG is another Bute, he's been looking the part so far.
He's definitely not another Bute. GGG TKOd him in the amateurs
I don't see GG beating Froch or Ward at this point just yet. He hasn't proven anything at 168 to even suggest he could beat the top 2.
I'm a fan of GG, but i see too many people putting skill/potential over actual accomplishment. We all know what happened to the 'monstrous' puncher in Abraham after the move up, and while GG is better in pretty much every department to AA...every man and his dog was favouring an AA KO over Froch at the time.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing.
Golovkin isn't just a montrous puncher, he's a master boxer. In the ams he has already KO'd Bute in fewer rounds than Froch and out-boxed Dirrell.
Hearn is actually looking at a possible Froch/Golovkin bout for next year. I have no doubts that Froch would be willing to take it. Would be a great match up.
Hearn is an idiot for that imo, he's going to kill his cash cow. If Froch gets stopped he'll retire. All Hearn cares about is getting the fight on PPV in two countries so he makes money. The other opponent he wants is Kessler, for the same reason.
You know he beat Proksa #9 and Macklin #6 too?
Anyhow I favour Ward, but I think Golovkin stops Froch.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is still eyeing a mouth-watering contest between Carl Froch and WBA middleweight champion, Kazakh Gennady Golovkin.
But Froch, who was predictably named British Fighter of the Year at the annual British Boxing Board of Control awards night, still has the small matter of disposing of George Groves, in Manchester, next month.
Golovkin is a fearsome puncher with a record of 27 straight wins, 24 by way of knockout.
But Hearn said: "I think Carl Froch would fight Golovkin next. I don't think Golovkin is overly keen.
"That's what I've heard from various sources. I think it's a wonderful fight that's going to be PPV in the US and the UK."
GGG needs one fight at 168 1st, think Froch as others said would be a good match up but GGG would KO him for sure.
I think then he could take Ward by KO but only time can tell us this.
And to who ever said Ward comes in at 185 and GGG at 170, well let GGG weigh in 8lbs heavier and I bet he is 180LB plus as well.
As for the first fight at 168 it would be hard for GG. He needs some time at 168 before he takes on no 2 p2p.
As for Froch-GG that's the one I would like to see first. However say GG can't hurt Froch don't know what he's talking about.
In both fights GG would have a good chance of beating them.
Don't put to much into sparring.
I think of all the matches Froch might be the most intriguing, I don't think Golovkin can hurt him.

Ward has the size and height, Golovkin has the strength and reach.
Ward has the gold medal, Golovkin has the better amatuer record.
Ward has better pro wins, and more rounds, Golovkin has more wins and more knockouts.
Ward has great timing, anticipation and trickery, Golovkin has great pressure, composure and foot work.
Ward can tie up, and be too close or too far to hit. Golovkin has great efficiency, and cuts off the ring.
Ward can spoil a good offense, Golovkin is very accurate and throws everything with heat from all angles.
Nobody could possibly know who would win, that is why this is the best fight possible to make.
He doesn't deserve to have people think he beats Froch, I'll never understand how people buy into hype, are you a Froch fan?
Yeah, but I think he gets hit too much for someone with Golovkin's power.
Bear in mind Sergey Kovalev, a high quality light-heavyweight, was backed up by Golovkin.
Am I the only one that thinks Ward schools and knocks GGG out!?
I doubt a knock out, but I was thinking he'd win a UD. I think Ward will take a little bit of punishment from some hard shots, but Ward's defense is just too good. The only way Golovkin wins this fight is if he gets a KO. No way Golovkin wins a decision against Ward.
I don't think Ward's chin is that good. He was hurt early in his pro career by a guy that does not hit as hard as GGG. I think GGG has the skill to land hard punches on Ward and the power to KO him. I voted GGG by KO.
