I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to give this fight a concentrated viewing. What a battle! It was a very fun and compelling bout with great ebb and flow and shifts of momentum. Feel free to share your score cards, assessment, or notes from the fight.
My Scorecard:
Round 1: 10-9 Provodnikov
* This round could have easily been 10-8, but it's debatable. However, I feel that the ref should have scored it a knockdown when Bradley turned into a drunken acrobat.
Round 2: 10-9 Provodnikov
Round 3: 10-9 Bradley
Round 4: 10-9 Bradley
Round 5: 10-9 Bradley
Round 6: 10-9 Bradley
Round 7: 10-9 Provodnikov
Round 8: 10-9 Bradley
Round 9: 10-9 Bradley
Round 10: 10-9 Bradley
Round 11: 10-9 Provodnikov
* this round was extremely hard to score, probably the hardest round to score throughout the whole fight. I initially gave it to Bradley, but I though Ruslan edged it out.
Round 12: 10-8 Provodnikov
114-113 - Bradley
Notes:
- Second time Bradley shows lapses of concentration in the first and last round and hits the canvas; remember Holt?
- Was Round 1 10-8? I'm still not too sure but I think it should have been ruled a knock down.
- I thought all rounds were easy to score except for the 11th, I scored it for Ruslan on here but I won't argue those who think Bradley won.
- Bradley won the boxing match but Ruslan won the fight.
- Bradley was out on his feet several times, it's amazing the will and determination of this guy. Not to mention he's in crazy condition; vegan diet for the win.
- Ruslan's face was fucked up, but they were mostly superficial markings. Bradley took more punishment even though it didn't show on the surface.
- Roach was a damn fool in the corner and had little advice to offer as usual. Not to mention he was out of line wanting to stop the fight when Ruslan's power kept him in the fight every minute.
- Ruslan Provodnikov blew the fight by giving so many rounds away and letting Bradley outwork him.
- Let's keep in mind that Ruslan was moving up from 140 and Bradley outweighed him considerably, yet Tim was hurt bad several times throughout the fight.
- Bradley sounded punch drunk in the post fight interview, I think this fight took some years off his prime.
True cause you know better than Vet CJ ross, right... (see what I did there?) being a veteran or old doesn't mean you can't be incompetent.
Pat is well respected, and one of the best refs in the game..He did a great job in this fight, as did the judges scoring the fight..Stop your belly aching..
keep in mind you're dealing with an alt created right after nonito lost.
Jesus man, how many times do I have to tell your dumb ass? I have no alt, this is my only account, I made it after the Rigo fight and I bet money on Rigo, I praised him for his performance and practically said Nonito got schooled.

I don't even like Nonito, dude get ****ed you reject.
I don't believe you did not have a previous screen name. Its not a coincidence you created it after the Nonito waxing.
True cause you know better then vet Russell right..:grumpy:

Stop lying alt.
That was not a rant, I practically copied what you said and flipped it around, think about that for a second. :lol1:
My gripe comes with the referee, simple as. I'm not making up rules, I'm using common sense. Knockdowns were missed, using the ropes to keep you up is a rule, as is losing a point for being knocked down.

lol. Yeah I see what you did there. You went on a rant because you have no way to justify scoring the fight for Ruslan without making up your own rules or playing around with the point system.

Point is, you didn't even know what you were saying, you just spouted some random crap and claimed "end of" like you had a clue. You can bloody a guy, break his nose, and give him a concussion, and if you do that in multiple rounds, then you can win the fight.
See what I did there champ? Just stop.

Prov did not win this fight..Weather by Rd or points..Deal with it..
Nobody expects any different from you Rome, you think Bradley won vs Pacquaio, your opinion is next to worthless when it comes to Bradley controversy.

Point is, none of that **** matters. You can bloody a guy, give him a concussion and break is jaw in 1 round but if you lose the others, you lose the fight.
7 rounds gives you 115 points. Minus 1 point for a KD is 114. But like I said earlier, your making up your own rules and playing around with the points system in order to try and get your guy ahead.

Bradley gutted out a fight that he had no motivation for. He fought a mans fight and still won. He impressed me, but hopefully he didn't pay the price long term.
What a pointless and stupid response, you quoted my reply which was a response to another poster discussing the likelyhood of each corner throwing in the towel, how about you add the context before quoting me next time?
Lastly, boxing is scored on points, round by round, key word there is points. I never argued Bradley won more rounds, I argued he won less points, end of story.

No, Brads trainer was trying to motivate him, I never said any different did I? I just countered his argument with what he threw at me. I have NO CLUE why you are bringing up tissue damage, that has ZERO relevance, do you understand Bradley is a darker tone to Ruslan? Bruising will not show as easily/at all? You understand bone structure and skin sensitivity will decide how red a fighters face becomes and how easily they swell or bruise? It is not a clear indicator of punishment.
Lets use the facts and link to common sense. Who would you rather be in that fight? Who do you think suffered brain damage? Who's speach was slurred from the damage? Who didn't even know where they were after the fight? Now, once you've answered all those, it's quite obvious that Bradleys corner were FAR more likely to throw in the towl than Roach, especially when Roach knows Ruslan can KO Bradley, yet not vice versa, cmon.

the rules say the ropes can't hold you up. in round 2 his entire body fell into the ropes. gravity says there's no possible way he would have stayed up without the ropes. also in round 6 he fell on the bottom rope so once again the ropes held him up. why don't you like using the rules? oh because you love bradley well that's excusable then.
I agree with the 6 rd the ropes held Bradley up,yet I clearly said the first two rds..I don't agree that the ropes held Bradley up,he was catching his balance not falling..
Some of my thoughts about this fight..
I did not score the first 2 rds a 10-8,and the reason why was because Prov did not dominate the entirety of the rd..Bradley was actually winning both rds before he got over confident and tried to really do damage to Prov and open himself up..Not to mention I did not feel there was a KD in either rd..I thought it was the right call for Pat not to call either of the so-called KD,by the rules of the sport Bradley was not KD..
This was a true battle, but I still think both,Marquez and Bradley are still highly skilled and tough as nails fighters..Even after the last battle both were in,I mean think about it..Marquez was in last yrs fight of the yr(also his last fight),while Bradley was in this yrs(so far)FOTY..I don't believe anything came close to the excitement this fight brought tbh..
I'd love to see a rematch of this fight at some point,I thought their style match up was lovely..Roach imo came up with a great game plan for Prov,a lot of sneaky tricks in there for Prov..
Great fight,very memorable..

oh, but Bradely's trainer wasn't trying to motivate him to listen to him and start boxing? Seemed to have worked because Ruslan's vortex technique to drag Bradley into a phonebooth brawl stopped working after the second round.
And who cares if Ruslan was close to hitting the ground or not, his tissue face was getting repeatedly hit by mr. featherfist and getting cut up.
Common sense?
If you think Bradley's trainer was legit going to stop the fight, why wouldn't you believe Roach would for ruslan who was constantly getting hit in the face and cut by a guy who everyone says couldn't bust a grape?
