would Floyd Money Mayweather Be undefeated if he had fought 15 years earlier than he did say starting his career in 1982-3-4? Now I do not mean from a purely competition standpoint because it is clear that the divisions he has boxed in were clearly stronger in the 80's and 90's I think had he fought that competition every 4-6 months he would have been bound to have a let down though I am not saying any of the fighters from that era are clearly better than Floyd What I am trying to ask is about his style would it have garnered win after win like it does today? the judges were clearly judging diferently then I have often said that if it were not for Sweet pea Floyd would have more than 1 lose by now for instance Pernell outpunched outlanded and with a higher accuracy than Jose Louis Ramerez, and Julio Ceasar Chavez and he out punched out landed with a higher accuracy and scored a knock down against De La Hoya and lost by very large margins on all three cards to De La Hoya and of course drew with chavez and a split decision with Ramerez one card even saw it 117-111 and he clearly dominated every round the reason I ask is because Floyd throws about half the punches as Whitaker with about the same accuracy the fact is every time whitaker fought in Vegas or Texas or Reno the scores were much closer than they should have been this is not some Floyd Depreciation thread so don't go and skin me for being a hater I do appreciate his craft and hard work I was just wondering if I am the only one that see's it this way I think he would have lost a couple of close fights back then just because the judges did not appreciate that style as they do today
