Who will be remember as the better brother combination:
wlad and vitali with over a decade of dominance
or
Juan and ralph with great victories over a few weight classes...
personally
I think jmm is the best fighter of the four,,
but i lean towards the klits because they have dominated with no slip up for close to a decade...
juan and ralph had setbacks in their career]
all 4 were great fighters..
what to you guys think
Because other fighters arent brothers with very similar styles...
i saw peter get beatdown by vitali, and then a year or so later saw wlad do it...
haye is about the only guy i wanna see fight both brothers, just because he has a nice ko of chisora and he talks a good game..
if wlad beats up povetkin, do you wanna see povetkin-vitali
or did you wanna see adamek-wlad, after vitali beat him down,,,,,
Did you wanna see kirk johnson or danny williams fight wlad, after vitali dismantled them
i agree they are different fighters but the appeal for a fight greatly diminishes after one brother beats down a guy..
This isnt like if floyd beats someone, how would manny do,,, manny and floyd, or ward and froch have completely different styles, whereas the klits have some small differences but basically they control the fight with their size and jab, then land big shots and slowly break guys down...
in the early 2000s they were alittle bit more different as wlad had fully developed as a fighter, but over the last 10 years wlad has come into his own, and has learned to avoid some punches and control fights unlike the version of wlad that fought purritty etc
Wlad is the champ. In spite of Vits paper title there can only be ONE world champion. I want to see contenders fighting the best contenders to get their legitimate shot at Wlad world title. Now because Vit can't/won't fight his brother this means he should be cleaning out everyone else in spite of whether Wlad has fought them or not. Had he done this he would have been more favorably looked upon like his brother.
All those fighters were ranked in the top 10 the same time as Vits so there was no reason not to fight them. Contenders need to fight other top contenders if they want legitimate recognition. Vits is not his brother and vice versa so that excuse carries no weight my friend. If it did than why should any fighter fight another after they've lost?

Good point,,,
I dont really think the fight was as close as the punch stats showed,, havent watched in awhile, so not going to try and start a huge debate about it,, I just felt that vitali was in control and easily ahead on the scorecards,,, Byrd was a very game fighter,,, your probably right in what you say about not hurting byrd.....I need to watch it again and your usually dead on when talking about fights so i will take your word for it
Vits was well ahead and seemingly in control, Im just pointing out that it wasn't a route. :fing02:
I think your throwing out some garbage names..... Tyson and holyfield were completely shot by 2000,, barrett got beat up by wlad, same thing with haye, thompson, chambers, mccline,, The bad thing about being brothers is that once one beats him a guy, the demand drops for the other brother to fight the same guy,,,
dimitrenko was hype and never deserved a shot
valuev would never fight either klit
to early to say on helenius, pulev and fury,, they have just now in the past year or so solidified themselves so i dont think they should be throw'n in.
Jones Jr,,, lol.. that dude was never fighting any heavy outside of slow ruiz
Ruiz should have probably happened but don king was making in-house fights for him, same goes for golata
Vitali was retiring when brewster became relevant but brewster was shot by the time vitali cameback
Boystov hasnt fought anyone of note and is protected
would have like to seen Tua fight, but Tua has been pretty much MIA since the byrd loss
I do think rahman, toney circa 2005 should have fought vitali, but vitali retired with njuries.....
No one seems to give vitali any credit for decisively beating prime undefeated arreola, prime champ peter, prime chisora, and adamek

Byrd made him miss more than any other fight before or after. This is why the injury was caused.
Good point,,,
This just isn't true. He was well up on the cards and rightly so, but the rounds were very close. Punch stats confirm this as Vits only landed 8 more punches the entire fight. He never had Byrd hurt and was often backed up himself. That is not a route.

I think your jumping to conclusions,,,,
have you seen vitali vs byrd,, looked about the same as wlad vs bryd... bryd was older and got stopped vs wlad, but he was getting routed vs vitali till he quit.

The Klits have been dominant, but its been a weak to ordinary crop of fighters. Its Vits who is the weak link though. And while the Marquez brothers haven't been as dominant they've faced face a much, much better array of fighters with better skills and accomplishments.
Tese are he fighters Vits did not fight for one reason or another. You can find legit reasons or boneheaded excuses for all, but the fact remains he did not fight them and this is hugely important in this kid of discussion.
Since 2000, and excluding the years he missed, these are all the top 10 fighters he didn't fight for one reason or another.
Tyson
Holyfield
Tua
Maskaev
Rahman
Ruiz
McCline
O'Quendo
Jones jr
Toney
Golota
Brewster
Barret
Chagaev
Povetkin
Valuev
Dimitrenko
Chambers
Haye
Boystov
Thompson
Helenius
Pulev
Fury

the byrd fight had nothing to do with byrd, lewis did stop vitali on cuts,, lewis beat him fair and square,,, i have no qualms about that,,, vitali kinda just pussed out on in the byrd fight,,, byrd did nothing to him
Byrd made him miss more than any other fight before or after. This is why the injury was caused.
well please tell me who you wanted them to fight,,,, name the guy they dodged........
was it fat toney, or hugger ruiz,, or maybe marco huck....
I can understand people saying marquez bros,,, but lets not act like they blow klits out of the water,,,,, the marquez bros never ruled a division, the way klits have ruled for a decade
once again,,, please name the fighter that the klits didnt fight,,,,,, and nearly every top guy they fought was prime and undefeated.......
so please name the fights they avoided,, im waiting:dance:

it boils down to resume for me. Marquez bro's are more accomplished and have better wins. It isn't the Kltischko's fault though. They did their job, which was to annihilate everyone infront of them.
We never really saw the true potential of the Kltischkos. IMO they're some of the best Heavyweights in history.
Wlad will get major respect when he's done. We'll look back and see that while the era was weak, he beat everyone that mattered over a long period of time. It will also help him that the heavyweights who follow will be terrible. He'll be appreciated when we're watching Deontay Wilder windmill against Kubrat Pulev.
50 years from now people will be talking about Juan Manuel Marquez and how much better he is than fighters at that time a lot more than they will talk about Wlad or Vitali combined.
People talk about marciano still, and guys like arguello and zarate kinda get lost in time,, i think the same will happen to the marquez bros.. only hardcore fans will talk about them, and mainstream is obsessed with heavys
David Haye. Vitali should get in the ring with him and prove otherwise.
I have haye #3 behind each klit bro, but haye is a legit choice as #2,, i wont argue against it

Who do you consider the #2 heavy if not vitali,,
he has beaten undefeated arreola, champ peter, and #1 contender adamek, and contender chisora,,,
No one else comes close, so just wondering who is your #2 heavy if not vitali
