do you think this could solve some problems. I know some judges and even tried to be one myself but you quickly realize that they dont make much money at all. To me that makes them easy targets for a bribe. People complain about these decisions and want the sport to be clean but if you are making pennies and someone is offering you big money, would you not entertain the thought?
Nearly every judge I know only does judging on the side while working a real job. Then you think about it, most of the time the guy who they are taking the bribe for probably wins anyways. Chavez didnt last night but everyone had him favored so if they fight wouldve went like it was suppose to then they could get paid a ton while not doing anything wrong because Chavez won anyways.
Then you have situations where a promoter might give them a lil cash and let them know that if they do this then they will put them on more cards while if they dont then they may not even get that promoter again. They may be forced to take it sometimes in those cases. Boxing just needs to either the pay the judges more or even better, start being governed by a higher authority to clean this up
You are making a huge facade of accusations with nothing to back them up. You know absolutely nothing and yet you're throwing figures around.
Judges do the job because they LIKE it. They don't live from it, it's a helpful sideline. They love boxing.
It was announced only last week that the Ref for the Alvarez-Mayweather fight was paid $5,000 and the judges $3,500 each.
Yoy seem to have your mouth wide open and your eyes and ears closed. I dearly wish that the laws of libel were relevant to the Internet, and if so the posters like you would shrink back into their little basement rooms.
STFU, clown. I have judged fights before. I have judges in my family. I know a ton of them. Your numbers even further prove my fact because they are getting even less then what the guy said they got. You are naive if you think people dont get payed off. Sure, all these bad scores just come from being incompetent, right? Trust me, Ive been on the inside. Ive seen corrupt things on a local level so I know damn well its even more prevelent on the higher level.
So what they do it because they love it. Money is money and if you dont think anyone can be bribed then you are foolish. If you are making 3,500 for one of the biggest fights in boxing history, you dont think that person would go for an extra 20k? Again, in the smaller fights they arre making much less.
You havent seen more fights than me, you havent participated in more than me, and you dont know more then me about boxing so stop it
Someone on another site just said that CJ Ross got 8k for Floyd-Canelo. IDK if that number is true but lets say it is. You have to remember that this was suppose to be one of the biggest money fights in history and she only gets 8k. So what do you think she gets for a good fight that is just a regular fight like Rios vs Alvarado? If Floyd-Canelo is an 80mil plus figh and she only gets 8k then what does she get for a fight like Rios-Alvardo that wont even make a tenth of what Floyd-Canelo did? I bet she's lucky to get a G and this is on the elite level. The people who judge local fights are even less.
Then you have to wonder how many fights these judges do in a year and how many are big or local? I just dont think they make much. If CJ Ross is getting paid like 4g's for a regular fight then you dont think she would consider a bribe. Take Chavez-Vera for instance. If a judge is getting paid 4 g's then what is it for Arum's people to get to them and say "I will give you 20k if you score it for Chavez".
Now what is 20k to Arum? Its not even just about one fight but its about the future. Chavez is a huge name. He might make 8-10mil in his next fight if he fights someone good but if he loses then he may only make 3mil so what is it for Arum to slide a judge 20k? Its nothing when you are talking about one of your fighters losing out on millions. Now if CJ Ross does 4 fights a year with a payoff, she's making around 100k instead of the 16k she wouldve made without being in pocket. A huge difference

I bet if you was a judges getting 1,000 dollars for only 4 hours you would give it to the promoter fighter too just so they keep calling too get that 1G
8k for one fight is a lot. You would think they judge just about every weekend maybe they aren't all big fights but I think they have a salary as well. I was not aware that they got paid per fight. Either way I'm pretty sure they make over 60k which isn't the most but it's definitely live able.

No, they need to do their job correctly. . . paying them more will not be any less of an incentive to take a bribe. There should be a complete overhaul on how fights are judged and each judge should be looked into thoroughly before a big event
How much do they make? If you think about it judging a fight is pretty fun. You get to watch fights and get paid for it. I would assume they at least make over 60k a year.
