I keep hearing that Floyd has a history of ducking fighters. What fighters has he ducked throughout his career other than possibly Manny Pacquaio? Looking at the list of fighters he has fought, it looks like he fought the best of his generation:
Corrales
Castillo (x2)
Gatti
Judah
De La Hoya
Hatton
Marquez
mosley
Ortiz
Cotto
Alvarez
That looks to me like every single relevant fighter of his era except for one.
The one fight I will always say Floyd should have but didn't fight is Cotto in 2008. Cotto was undefeated, an enormous name and big money. Floyd was supposed to fight Oscar in a rematch then Cotto but went into retirement. Truly sad it didn't happen at that time but it was a great fight last year.
The talk was that the winner of Mosley vs Cotto and the winner of Hatton vs Mayweather would fight each other is a mega-fight.
But as you said Floyd went into retirement.
A very well calculated move.
If he went straight to DLH, you would be right but he still fought Baldomir for the same amount of money. Which says, he went with the money rather than the challenge = DUCK.
If Floyd fought Marg your punk a$$ would say he duck Baldomir...
Question??? At the time you claim Mayweather ducked Marg...Who was the UNDISPUTED WelterWeight Champion???
According to fanboys a prime margarito. Lol whatever the **** that is. The only one you can say Is PAC but its both their faults really. Not fair to shift blame on one as both contributed to this fight not getting signed.
In my opinion, his most glaring omission was not pushing HBO for his first PPV versus Tszyu when he decided to fight Juuko and remain at lightweight. Great match-up for the unified super lightweight world title was lost forever just so he could face a mandatory contender (smdh) HBO and Team Mayweather could have vacated lightweight one would think in favor of a bigger fight right? Timing was perfect for everyone
Only one name matters, could care less about Spadafora, Margarito, etc.
He stalled on what would have been the biggest fight in boxing in years, and the richest fight in boxing history...
That martinez fight was never close to being done so how are all these fights ducks. Its just your opinion and one of the very few that say Sergio is now a duck job.
Come on man keep threads in reality
"we only want to fight the best" - Floyd Mayweather.
Mayweather was interviewed several time about a possible clash with Martinez at 154, next to the Pac bout, it was the fight most wanted him to see. Martinez called him out several times, Floyd even mentioned him after one of his victories, forgot which one. But he dismissed that fight on the basis that Martinez was a nobody, yet he goes and fights Ortiz and Guerrero.

Ok mate that's fine.
I was willing to have a civil discussion about it because I think you're a good poster but it seems you aren't willing to.
I was just messin with u bro plus i was tired and needed to hit the sack. But I know we're both entrenched in our opinions to see it the other way. But I do enjoy our discussions, just wanted to add a bit more banter to it is all
Floyd also called out Shane at 135 saying he would move up to 147. Oh but it only counts when someone else calls Floyd out even though he's the bigger name and calls the shots. Floyd fought Shane after his biggest win in YEARS, arguably the second biggest in his career. The excuses only came after Floyd dominated him while Freddie roach openly said he was ducking Mosley when they thought Mosley was a beast.
Not the exact truth now, is it?
There was talk that Floyd could move up to 135lbs to take Mosley, Mosley dad say for 10 million it could happen.
Mosley would move up to welter shortly after and fight the like of Oscar.
Do you know why Floyd likes taking year to two year vacations every now and again?
Toothache hurts.
Mosley was answering a question in a post fight interview, and as a member of GBP and a friend of Oscar, he new that fight was going to be made.
Floyd never put an offer in to fight Shane and never had.

What about Mosleys toothache?

Floyd never put an offer in to fight Shane and never had.
17 months of ring rust, had his 38th birthday, had two fights canceled, and was in a 6 month training camp.
Also had some injuries according to Shane himself.
That's nice.
At which time did he lose?
You don't remember, Floyd's excuse.
Shane Mosley is not a PPV attraction and Floyd went on to fight Marquez.
Mosley the welterweight champion put in an official offer to fight Mayweather, Floyd turned it down to fight the lightweight champion of the world at welterweight.
For the record, Mosley PPV sales against Mayweather were 40% better than Marquez.
Another blatant lie and excuse from Floyd.
What about Mosleys toothache?
And at which point between this, and when the fight was signed did Mosley lose?

When did Mayweather refuse to fight Sharmba Mitchell? This is a creative one, I don't think I've even yet to hear this one.
When did Mayweather refuse to fight Mosley? And what loss did he take that made him take the fight? Mayweather was being accussed of ducking Mosley after the Cotto loss. I don't recall him losing between that fight and when he finally stopped "ducking" him.
