this guys best win was him outclasing p williams and getting robbed, hes gone life and death with molina, angulo and vanes, and now hes the guy that beats mayweather? i like laras pure boxing style im a fan of that, but hes not that good hes not nearly as good as the best cuban rigo.
I totally agree with this post. Lara is not as great as people portray. I can't stand Canelo but I say if Canelo and Lara faught 10x's, canelo would win 5, Lara 3, and 2 draws. I thibk trout & molina would both beat him 5 of 10 with 5 draws lol!
I would like Lara and Trout to fight on the Khan vs Alexander card. I'm hoping GB does that. Especially in Brooklyn. Should this happen and Kara beats him in a good fight, he definatly should get it. Ain't like there's a list of guys for Floyd to fight anyway.
Angulo Quit Doe......
Only the Cubans are talking Lara. Angulo almost killed him.
I'm Puerto Rican and he's one of my favorite fighters. Nobody is saying he can beat Floyd, just mentioning him as an opponent. Different style for Floyd compared to what he's been seeing as of late. Him and Garcia are the two I'd say are the best realistic opponents for Mayweather. Khan and Alexander? Na......
He has great tools, very good reach, the attributes are there physically but he isn't well schooled at fighting from close quarters, doesn't mix up his attack as much as he should (This is a serious problem IMO) and doesn't throw enough. He's good enough to deal with plenty of fighters but he doesn't beat Canelo and definitely not Floyd.
always like Lara but I almost gave up on him because i felt like he was blowing winnable fights, was kinda frustrating tbh. even picked angulo to beat him by SD...thought he blew the fight against Williams, and thought he fought in a horrible way against Vanes. lara had experience gap over vanes, and he fought like an am...but now, I think he deserves another look....he should get some credit for staying in that fight and doing damage himself...it was a comeback of sorts i guess. It's new for him as far as I've seen. I think he has a bit of an edge emerging in him now, so I'm interested to see i'm right or wrong on that. any additional passion in these close fights should put him over the top. him vs canelo is a top fight.
Isn't he Mayweather's mandatory at 154?
He's a more credible opponent than Khan, Alexander or Garcia. And I'm a Mayweather fan.
Khan- only makes sense financially.
Alexander- Joke all around.
Garcia- hasn't fought above 140 yet.
Whether or not Lara would win is one thing, but whether or not the fight should be made is another. His style poses an interesting match up.
Disagrees. Khan is a bigger joke than Devon.
Rigo is great but Floyd has beaten 17 world champs and went 24 pounds above where he started, some people don't appreciate what they seeing.
I wasn't talking about accomplishments, I was talking about pure boxing skills.

Even Floyd Mayweather himself is not as good as Rigondeaux. Yes, I said it.

Paul Williams was coming off a 2nd round KO, it was brutal. Williams deserves all the credit for taking a bout with a difficult style like Lara after such a lost. Says alot about Williams.
Who said he beats Mayweather?
I've just seen people mention him as a potential opponent because he is his mandatory and a top 5 fighter at least at 154.
But I guess Khan and Garcia are the preferred opponents anyway so carry on.
He's just a guy that will give people problems because he is southpaw and boxes well.
I don't see it either.
Even Abril is a better cuban boxer than him.
