I'd rank JMM higher in the ATG list just based on his wins. The Pac KO is a win that creates legends. Fraud Jr. missed out on that chance. Would you say JMM has better wins against tougher opposition than Mayweather? Discuss.
True, Floyd is very methodical about who he fights. With him its not a case of just picking the most dangerous man out there.
If you take a little time to think about it, JMM possibly does beat everyone who Floyd beat. If JMM can find a way to beat Pac, and make life difficult for Pac don't discount JMM.
Floyd has more so called names on his resume as JMM spent his his whole career fighting Pac If JMM got rid of some of his fights with Pac, he might have more of the bradleys, Zudahs, hattons on his resume. But JMM always aimed for the best in Pac.
Having said that, the katsidis of this world aren't that great.
That is just a "NO" no matter how long you think (or waffle) about it. I keep asking people to list Marquez's 10+ best wins and see how they measure up. Any takers?
I laugh at your list. We all know Floyd fought all of them because there was something so defective about them at the points of their careers.

Gotta go with Floyd on this one. JMM doesnt beat most of Floyd's best wins.

Last I checked Floyd gave JMM a boxing lesson. WW or not Floyd proved who the better fighter was in the ring.
Say he was the bigger fighter all you want. What I saw was Floyd being too fast and too damn hard to hit for the great Marquez.
Floyd's win over Canelo is going to look better and better in the next few years as Canelo keeps winning, particularly if Canelo v Cotto materialises, as Canelo will beat Cotto and prob by KO imho.
FMJ
- Hatton
- Hernandez
- Castillo x 2
- SSM
- Cotto
- Judah
- Ortiz
- Guerrero
- ODLH
- Gatti
- Corrales
- Corley
- Canelo
- Manfredy
- and JMM by shutout at the weight he pole axed MP in
versus
- Pac
- Casamayor
- Diaz
- Katsisdis
- Salido
- BARRERA
Does he really have the better wins?
Alot of you people discount the effect the fans have on determining ATG status. The public know who Floyd is, he is a visible figure, and a popular one (love or hate) and that has a huge effect on how fighters are remembered and what esteem they are held in.
I laugh at your list. We all know Floyd fought all of them because there was something so defective about them at the points of their careers.
Thats speculation. But even if it were true, we cant use that to prove that they arent good fighters. Floyd's resume since JMM is great. The only one not on the list that he shouldnt have fought was Pac. But if he fought Pac, and didnt fight ONE of these fighters it would be a duck to me.
Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, and Canelo.

lol come on son
This goes without saying.
Mayweather gets zero credit for beating Marquez, true boxing historians recognise the result as void.
No they dont LOL!! He made Juan look like a fool. No one cares about the weight because Floyd beat him so bad, that it left the impression that no matter WHAT weight, Floyd was much too good for Juany!! Floyd also did not use his size advantage to overpower Juan. He didnt even walk him down. He stayed on the outside, and outboxed him!
Sorry to stir up some dramatics, it's just after the dust settled on the Canelo win, I woke up and said, holy fuk, was I high? It was Canelo... Wtf has he done in his career thus far? The smoke screen wears thin on Fraud's victories.

Ask any boxer or trainer, who's higher on the ATG list? I'm sure they will say "Mayweather" hands down. Hell, there are boxers saying Mayweather is the greatest ever and ranking him within the top 5.
haha and nobody will remember Floyd totally schooling Marquez at the weight he sensationally ko'd Pac??? lol you're an idiot... everyone going on about how he beat Manny??? yet Floyd beat the guy that beat Manny... who else has totally dominated Marquez... haha you're bigging up Marquez for ko'ing Manny and disregarding
Mayweathers win over Marquez at the exact same weight he fought Manny at an even earlier stage of Juans career
geez so many retards
Again, Morales' win over Jones is good, but not career defining. Same with Foreman vs Norton. And in neither of these cases was the opponent moving up 2 weightclasses, with a CW the other guy blew off.
That fight was terrible and and Tarver was at thye end of his career retard and Kayode far from manhandled him haha I actually think Tarver got the better in that fight (if you're comparing a close draw"Tarver,Kayode" to a sheer dominating performance by Mayweather against Juan you make it extremely obvious you have an agenda)
ahaha ,Marquez was still the same Marquez or perhaps even better when he fought Mayweather because he was slightly younger (its not as if he could get better in a couple years at 40)
Plus Tarvers win over Roy wasn't impressive as Roy was on the decline... your argument is flawed as hell
Fine, if we gonna be putting things into context, Pac may well been as washed up as RJJ pre Tarver, and JMM obviously looked better physically for Pac 4. For Floyd, JMM had barely moved up to 135 where he was being muscled by the likes of Juan Diaz, and made hard work of shot Casa. Then moved up to 144 (or so he thought) eating tacos and throwing rocks. You could see the flab. For 4 Memo called him Hulk.
Regardless, JMM is a bad matchup for Pac. He's never gonna do well vs Floyd just like Junior Jones couldn't deal with Morales and Norton with Foreman, but dealt with tMAB and Ali.
Floyd has like 20 decent wins but Marquez has 1 great win. 20 years from now no one is going to talk about Floyd's win against that all time great 29-6 Victor Ortiz. :lol1: People will be talking about Marquez's legendary knockout of Pacquiao for aslong as this sport is alive.

He forced him up two weight division and then conned him on the scales.
It is the same as Golovkin agreeing to fight Floyd at 154. Floyd weighs in at 150 and Golovkin says screw this and comes in at 160.
He didn't force JMM to do anything that was JMM"s choice he wanted to challenge himself.
It would be the same if Golovkin said that he never intended to make the weight the whole time, also it would not be a full 160 it would be like ok fuck it I came down to 156 I am not dropping more.
JMM knew the deal it was all laid out there for him the whole promotion, so if he got conned that is his fault for being a fool and JMM is not a fool.
Floyd is a bit bigger than JMM, that played a roll in why he won but lots of guys are a bit bigger and get plenty of credit. All you are laying out is an excuse~ oh and in your scenario Golovkin would get plenty of credit~
Is that like Kayode always being remembered for pretty well handling a roided Tarver, who KOed RJJ

Well said Sir :beerchug:
Why because Floyd is a bit bigger than JMM? OK Floyd is taller and more rangy and used those attributes to defuse JMM, I know you don't dog a certain heavyweight for similar advantages he uses.
IF you are talking about the weight go back and look at what got said going into that fight everyone on Floyd's side said this is a welterweight fight. JMM knew the deal going in and took the risk/payday so I don't see why Floyd would not get any credit~. If they fought (they fought in many fo the same weight classes jsut at different times and JMM started 1 class below Floyd) at any point the same **** would happen because Floyd is always taller and more rangy
