And i think he will go go that Jugular vein...Roger has mentioned it and has others "THE LINEAL MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE" he will go for it before he retires i feel it
Judging from the responses in this thread, there is literally nothing Floyd can do to be the best ever. In a way, I agree with that, but, in many ways he's proven to be better than most of you give him credit for fight by fight. The greatest ever? No, why? Because Manny is the meter stick for where people place him. And if most of you can be honest with yourselves for one minute, once Manny started moving up in weight his resume is very choppy at best. If these 2 ever fought it would improve Manny's legacy more than Floyd's because nothing Floyd does gets him full credit. I think he's the smartest and most well rounded boxer to ever lace em up. And of course the statistically greatest defensive boxer ever. He will have to settle for that and his many titles and record breaking money, which isn't a bad thing.
I'd personally like to see FLoyd just stay at WW for the remainder of his career. He's gone up on weight 3 times, he gets credit for neither bout so what's the point. There's no one at 147 that can beat him, but let 4 more try at least. You never know what may happen.
Ive seen videos of SRR robinson and ya thats not gonna happen.
Most say SRR's prime was before video so thats just a myth entirely. So how can you really say that he beats floyd
Because I saw the same videos and saw a much better fighter....then I looked at who he beat, how he beat them and how long and how regularly he used to fight. It was pretty basic stuff for a boxing fan.
And Bob Cousy would brutalize Allen Iverson too right. Fucc outta here you fake posing historian.
SRR is not "brutally battering " Floyd get real.
Really?? There are many fighters that came after SRR that would have beaten the piss out of him, so why not the greatest fighter of all time? You are a greasy little bumsnifff, Floyd is the only reason you follow the sport and thats about as far back as your historical 'knowledge' goes. You dont know what you're talking about, just another fluffer.:nonono:
Thats right floyd fans.
Silenced.
The roy jones comment is concrete.
Dont ever say ATG cant move up vs a bigger guy.
Roy jones jr did it
Roy did that because the tito fight in 2001 for $20 mil evaporated when bhop beat tito. Then the potential tyson fight blew up too.
Floyd goes up as far as the money is, same as roy, or even josesito lopez goin to 154 to fight canelo.
Your problem is you keep trying to make it like roy was out looking to do this to prove his detractors wrong so floyd has to do something similiar to appease you and the rest of the moronic a$$holes who think he has to do something to enhance his legacy.
Like all fighters it is a question of money. If Mayweather goes to middleweight then it is because a lot more money can be made from fighting Martinez then the alternatives. How else will Mayweather be able to maintain his ridiculously lavish lifestyle?
If he is vilified now for ducking Pacquiao magnify that by at least 10x over and you will have an idea how much Pacquiao leaves Mayweather behind any ATG ranking.
ducking manny is a personal opinion. I think people have warmed up to the idea that it wasnt floyd and manny hurt himself by taking a test with rios. Many people have said why can you take a test now but not when Floyd wanted you to
the fact is floyd will be more remembered first as a ducker and then a distant second his undefeated record.
he accomplished the 2nd due to his team business skills of matching him with cherry picked opponents. it really goes hand in hand.
no that will be forgotten. Only names and the aura that surrounds Floyd as one of the best of all time. When you have greats now like Bhop saying he is top 3
You really think in 20 yrs that will change into he ducks people. Floyd will be remember for being the first to put off a high profile fight for testing that is taking over this sport by storm. Even mannyis being tested his next fight. He will be remember for having one of if not the best defense ever.
When it's all said and done history will be very kind to Floyd. He will go down as the best of this era and rated as a very high ATG. He's just hated right now

I've also seen Armstrong's fights on youtube. The eye test tells me he brutalizes Armstrong in 2 rounds like Hatton.
He did need Pac real bad, but he didn't realize just how much at the time.
But he can still help himself that Pac scenario is gone and done.
He should be able to fight Sergio at 160 and GGG as people don't put any pressure on Floyd to ko anyone.
Floyd can just defend as much as he likes and win rounds by throwing 10 punches a round, and landing 7 of them limiting the danger he puts himself in as much as possible. Skills pay bills. FLoyds style lends itself well to moving up weight, and Pacs doesn't yet Pac has won titles in more divisions.?
Floyd needs to get a move on.
Well the Sergio fight should have happened a year or two ago when Sergio was the 3rd best P4P fighter behind just Mayweather & Pacquiao. Now he's injury prone & will be 39 years old by the time he could even fight again. If Floyd fights him now & beats him, everyone will just say he beat a way past his prime Martinez. Floyd had his chance to fight him, but he just completely ignored it when Martinez was calling him out.
notice how they break down floyd's resume with excuses but for pacquaio they never do it, so let's be consistent the only win's manny have that are impressive is
barrera and marquez
every other one involves weight drained or past prime or past koed fighters definitely not a top 30 atg with just those two wins.
He won't be known as the best ever, but he'll be considered an ATG. I know it's been said a billion times on here before, but he needed that Pacquiao fight back in 2008/2009 to see who truly was the greatest of this era. Floyd will definitely be in all top 50 lists years from now, but I don't think many would even put him in the top 15. He needed that Pacquiao win when it mattered the most.

His best wins would be
Castillo in the rematch
Corrales
Hernadez
De la hoya - past it and coked out
Martinez?
past it Cotto?
Hatton at 147?
that's not a GOAT resume
Not when Pacquiao has
Morales x2
Barrera x2
Marquez x2
Cotto
Margarito
Hatton - Lineal
that alone destroys Floyd's resume
Seriously? Seriously? And SERIOUSLY!!?!?!?
You have to be trolling lol.
a fight at 154 would have been acceptable as would moving up to 160. you make it sound like its unheard of to move up like that for the best fighter. fact is, it most likely would have been a more competitive fight in mid 2012 that it would be in mid 2014
ATG yes he is
Just not top 30
Floyd fans avoid the roy jones facts

For starters, Robinson makes Canelo look like a midget.
