Whats up
This is a thread where you guys can vent all your personal boxing opinions that are not necessarily popular opinions. Lets keep the bashing to a minimum since this is obviously there will be some shocking opinions haha.
Also make a bold prediction or two about fighters in the near future
-Pacquiao did win his fight with Bradley, but if you watch that fight again after the fifth round pac wasn't nearly as effective and a lot of his offense was neutralized by bradley. Him winning isn't as big as a robbery to me as most think.
-Any version of mike tyson loses to holyfield if he doesnt finish him before 6
-Trinidad is an atg but overrated. I think mayweather (at 36) can beat a prime trinidad.
Predictions:
Canelo loses within his next two fights
Broner loses within his next 4 fights
Rios beats pacquiao (not sure if i really believe that ha)
Fighters that hold excessively should be penalised.
Also, people tend to overrate the skill of a "counter punchers" and underrate the skill of a "brawlers".
my unpopular opinion is , the judge who scored the alverez mayweather fight a draw had the best score card !!!!! i finaly saw the fight last night becasue last week my stream kept cutting in and out and slowing down !!!!!! hahahaha theres no way i was paying for that fight !!!! anyways that fight was no where the shut out people claimed it was , there was a lot of close rounds and only a die hard floyd fan can claim it was a shut out !!!!!!!!!!!
He looked fine after Mosley. Mosley didn't do anything. Clottey was just big and marked Pac easy because of the size difference, he didn't take a beating.
Margarito on the other hand, it's hard to remember because of what Pac did to the man, but Margarito touched Pac a bit.
Well you kinda expect people to disagree with you when you post in a thread with the words "UNPOPULAR boxing opinions" in the title so well played my friend.
Pacquiao took a beating in fights he dominated. Particularly against Clottey, Margarito, and Mosely. If all you had to go by was the way he looked after these fights you would think he lost. Maybe he bruises easy but he always looks like he's been through a grinder after his fights.
Pacquiao/Cotto was Cotto's fight to lose. I actually rooted for Pacquiao in this one. Within a couple of rounds, Cotto was doing a lot better than I thought he would. Even after Pacquiao adjusted and got the KD, Cotto was still holding his own. This was one of the best performances from Pacquiao (and Cotto) IMO.

Abraham was less than a minute away from knocking out Dirrell when he fouled and ruined everything.
I don't know about less than a minute, but Dirrell did look like he was folding.
Most people say Martinez won, Hearns stops Floyd and Golovkin is the truth, those are very popular opinions.
Thinking Golovkin is the next Linares is the unpopular opinion but he is.
You wanna bet STAX?
Ahh this thread is going exactly as i expected *Manny Steward Voice*
We have seen the best of victor ortiz..will lose again shortly after he comes back
We have seen the best of andre berto
guerrero (is he fighting thurman?) will give thurman a tough fight in a losing effort
Holyfield won in the first fight with Lewis...
sykeee
Guillermo rigondeaux is P4P #3 behind may and ward.
Martinez beat paul williams in their first fight.
Pacquaio has been on PEDs for years but i don't think he is now.
Mayweather beats whitaker soundly.
Hearns stops mayweather in the later rounds.
GGG is the truth.
Castillo was not robbed against Floyd in their first fight.
Martinez vs. Paul Williams 1 could have went either way.
Judah won the third round against Floyd.
Collazo was not robbed against Hatton.
Hopkins did not beat Calzaghe.
Larry Merchant is idiotically biased.
The concept that Tarver was "robbed" against Roy Jones Jr. is a joke, Roy won. Pre-Ruiz RJJ also whoops Tarver easily for that matter.
Max Kellerman is actually a pretty good boxing analyst, the people who don't like him are the ones who are fans of the fighters Kellerman is not biased towards. (He is biased I admit, but I believe HBO influences that).
There are people who think Tarver was robbed against Roy?
GGG will lose when he steps up in class.
Broner's gonna put a clinic on Maidana.
Kahn definitely loses but does actually give Mayweather more trouble than he's had for years.
Guillermo Rigondeaux is one of the best fighters technically, ever to have laced them up.
Chavez/Taylor was the worst decision ever in boxing. Ruined that man's life.
Chavez quit in the second fight against Frankie Randall because he was on his way to losing again. Yeah Dr stopped it but you could tell by his body language he didn't want to continue. Yet no one ever calls him a quitter.
Whitaker was robbed against Chavez and to a lesser degree against De la Hoya.
De la Hoya is sooooooo overrated. Never beat anyone he wasn't supposed to beat.
Hopkins had no business losing to Jermaine Taylor or Calzaghe.
Daniel Geale clearly beat Darren Barker.
GBP never had future plans for Maidana. He is always used to hype other boxers. He was suposed to loose against Ortiz, Morales, Soto Karass and Lopez. You can actually see Oscar mad on his seat when they get KO. Same thing against Alexander (who signed with GBP before the fight). If it wasn't Chino his mandatory, GBP would have never made the Khan fight. They also tried to hype Matthysse and Thurman with Chino.
Hagler was getting his ass beat against Martillo Roldan until he thumbed his eye.
Monzon >>>> any of the fab. Four
sure he ducked him, but at that point in time, Bowe woulda beaten the pre Steward version of Lewis
Wlad is an ATG HW
Bradley is not a good boxer, he's just a tough guy
Ring belt is now just another paper alphabet belt, it hardly represents lineage
Margarito didn't do anything illegal vs Cotto, and him getting in a shitstorm before the Mosley fight is hardly "proof" that he did
Andre Ward is an entertaining fighter
Roy losing a buncha times as a shot fighter does absolutely nothing to tarnish his legacy
there's nothing wrong with Gatti being in the HOF solely for having been very exciting to watch
