Recent reports were saying that they wont...
but considering the PPV buys... surely they will get a nice chunk of profit?
IF NOT... Than wtf is the point... if a fight of this magnitude fails to make you any profit.

I think you answered your own question. how could they stay in business if they don't profit off the highest grossing fight ever?
from what ive heard the fight was bearly profitable !!!! because of all the money they spent on floyd , promotion and i heard they bought ppv to boost the ratings !!!!!! just like record companies would buy there own records to boost record sales !!!!!!
Difficult to say when we don't know how much money was spent on promoting this fight. Obviously Showtime spent a sh*tload of cash on this fight between fighter purses and promotion, though. I was seeing ads for this fight damn near everywhere I went.
Have the official numbers been released yet?
If the rumors turn out to be true, and Showtime ends up making either a small profit or breaking even, you have to wonder what the future of this Mayweather deal will hold. You know Mayweather vs. Garcia, Khan, Alexander, or Bradley isn't going to do even half of these numbers. I doubt most of them would even break 1 million buys.
