LOL it's funny reading people comparing Canelo to Margarito. You do know Margarito needed cement to KO anyone whereas Canelo has real power. Canelo is also at least twice as fast as slow-as-sh*t Margarito. It would be a good fight, but I'd take Canelo's power considering Marquez laid Pacquiao the hell out.

margarito coming in at 165lbs was talked about alot by the HBo commentators and everyone else....

call me an idiot if you may but wasn't that fight on Shotime???
I don't think Manny can box Canelo without being touched. Say what you will about the comparison with Margarito because although Canelo is slow footed his has fast hands and is accurate too. For Manny to win he'd have to box a disciplined fight the way he fought David Diaz, DLH & Cotto before he eventually got to them. Canelo would find Manny a lot easier than he did against Floyd and his stamina isn't as bad as it was made out to be, he'd stay with Manny and knock him out.
IMO Canelo is too big.
Let's not kid our selves, a battle worn margarito who had been brutally KO'd by Mosley isn't as good as Canelo or a 35 yr old ODLH at 147lbs. Plus Margarito has success to the body Canelo would have more success.
The punches Floyd was catching on his arms, shoulders etc would be hitting Manny. That's the difference for me Canelo would have success countering and landing combo's on Manny which would give him confidence. You could see in the Mayweather fight Canelo was frustrated hitting thin air or arms.
Canelo's combination punching is the difference in this fight.
I think Pacquiao would get stopped. He's way too small. Even if he did fill out in weight it would be hard. Canelo has a strong chin. Took a lot of flush shots from Mosely and hardly moved. He also counters well and fast. I could see him hurting Pacquiao to the body. Finally, I think Pacquiao would attempt to fight toe to toe and that would be his downfall.
canelo via a brutal, one sided, disgusting, hard-to-watch beatdown. cant wait to see who votes pac...
i kinda agree with u here. i don't think it'll be a brutal beatdown...canelo's great and all but i don't think he can brutally beatdown ANYBODY, he's too inactive and his feet are too fckin slow. but canelos bigger than pac so i think pac loses a decision. canelo doesn't take enough risks to stop pac imo.
i'm answering as if pac has to go up to 154, ie out of his weight class. if size isn't an issue. i actually think canelo's stamina would be his downfall versus pac. you can't get flustered, you have to be able to take a punch and not get emotional about it like marquez and soon rios.
Troll post? lets be honest. You're only saying Canelo beats Pacquiao because Mayweather just beat him. You're hyping up Mayweather by saying Mayweather can beat fighters Pacquiao can't.
Pacquiao would be too fast for Canelo and Canelo's power is overrated. Pacqiao wouldnt knock Canelo out but he has enough power to rip his face and injure him similar to what he did to Margarito. Canelo's face would go after 250+ punches land cleanly on his face.
And a counter Canelo left hook may have Manny sprawled on the canvas while his mouthpiece seeks refuge in the audience on some lady's lap.
.
no handspeed and no stamina vs PAC
if PAC survives the first 3-4 rounds, he picks him apart
Canelo isn't good on his feet either, in fact he is a guy who plods forward. I'm not sure what Manny looks like until he faces Rios, but if he has anything left from his 08-12 run he absolutely destroys Canelo.

Earlier tonight Pacquiao weighed in on the HBO scales at 148 pounds while Margarito rehydrated to 165 pounds. That's a huge weight difference and makes Margarito easily the biggest fighter Pacquiao has ever faced. Put in another context, it's basically a super middleweight taking on a welterweight.
nvm did a google search mosley was 164lbs and margarito was 165lbs...pac was 148lbs in both fights..

So he should be fighting Sergio & GGG right???
Right?!?!?!?!?!?
can pac come near the 160lb middleweight limit? pac could probably do a 152lb catchweight against canelo...and just come to fight night at 150lbs like floyd did...
i'm talking about fight night weight size....
where are you getting their respective weights on fight night?
nvm did a google search mosley was 164lbs and margarito was 165lbs...pac was 148lbs in both fights..
Canelo would stop Pacquiao. Too big, too strong and not that bad of a boxer. Hed beat Pac for sure if the fight happened tomorrow. In his prime hed give Canelo a long drawn out beating over 12.
pac now would probably beat canelo...pac back in 2010 would rape and maul canelo....
size really doesn't mean anything....mosley is 5'9" and weighed 168lbs on fight night and he got dropped and humiliated by a 150lb pac..5'11" margarito who weighed 165lbs (same weight as canelo against floyd) got battered and his eye destroyed....
where are you getting their respective weights on fight night?
Nelo vs another welterweight who's past his prime....what else is new?!?
Manny is too small and Nelo is sharp enough defensively to beat Manny atm....but if Nelo didn't possess that weight advantage, Manny would beat his ass thoroughly....no question about it!!
