Of course because we're in an an era full of kids and Mayweather is the top guy. So what do you expect? The same thing happened with Chavez and Tyson. Pacquaio too on the other side of the spectrum.
Mayweather's fans for the most part are ignorant and naive but that still doesn't mean they are all under the same umbrella.
The vast majority of Pacquaio fans in NSB are ignorant and naive but I'm not going to put them all under the same umbrella because there's definitely a handful that are good reasonable and knowledgeable fans and it works both ways.
Like I've said before, throughout Mayweather's career I've been critical when necessary. Both strongly with the Johnston situation and the Margarito situation. Very vocal on both accords.
The fact is, most are overly critical of Mayweather and often like to revise history so of course I'm going to refute that when I see it.
Like I said, Mayweather is not even my favourite fighter.
And I'm sure every solid guy here would vouch for me being a fan of the sport before a fan of a fighter.
Gotta respect that answer. My apologies to you.
Really??:lol1: This is NSB! You only have to look at my sig to know whats to be expected from 99.9% of the so called Mayweather fans here and you have been here long enough to know that is the sad truth of the matter. If I counted the number of decent Mayweather fans here on one hand I wouldnt use up all my digits. Derranged is the only one that springs to mind. He's the only one here that doesnt kiss the ass of the lunatic fringe here. you do have some good knowledge, I'll give you that, but I honestly cant say the same about you, fella.

Of course I'm talking in context to other world class fighters.
It's not something I'm capable of doing, of course. But I'm not looking at it from something that I can do, I'm looking at it like every fan does, in comparison to every other fighter.
I think there's an obvious double standard there on your part. I see you criticizing fighters all of the time and their wins. Mayweather for example as that's the main one, you always criticize Mayweather's opposition yet I'm sure that would draw some response.
Well, you shouldn't regard me as such. I may be a fan of Mayweather and I've most likely being following Mayweather longer than most on here (1998) but there's a lot of his fans who are ignorant. I think you putting them all under the same umbrella is naive and ignorant.

Absolutely not.
Disgraceful poll results.
It's straight after Garcia's biggest win and Hatton's career ended with two KO defeats. Most of the voters are Yanks (no offence lol) who have goldfish memories and are sucked in by the flavour of the week.
Although I will say that if Danny keeps going at this rate, he will surpass Hatton very soon.
Floyd's not my idol or my favourite fighter.
My favourite (and first fighters I became fans of) are Carlos Monzon and Alexis Arguello followed by Harold Johnson and Dick Tiger who I was put onto by my late Uncle.
I think you either don't know anything about me or have me mixed up with someone else most of the time.
Who's your current favourites Dan?
Thats all I needed to know.:lol1:
And the second bold, again I wonder just what you mean by that. I'm sure Hatton(or any other fighter) would be really impressed by some internet pissant regarding their hard work as 'illegitimate'. I can pretty much guess exactly what sort of response that would draw. If you ever wonder why I take the piss as much as I do, Its because of eejits coming out with dumb **** like that. Its mostly flommers that do that, so you can see why I regard you as such.....That and the amount of egging on and brown nosing of the other floms here.

Not true at all. By just the general poster. Nothing to do with contribution as such, just as a poster in general.
I don't have any kind of talking relationship with any Mayweather fan on here outside of Webb. So you're just talking nonsense.
The only people I speak to on a regular basis are History Section members, which is the only section I posted for well over a year when I joined this forum and would be still to this day if it wasn't slow.
So just cut out the bullsh*t.
Of course he was a work in process hence why he was fighting at such a low level.
What I am arguing, or questioning more so, is your statement that elluded to Hatton doing good work between 00-04 which just didn't happen. He has no legitimate wins during that period of time.
Thats all I needed to know.:lol1:

Not anywhere near as shocked as I am at your age, you old git! I expected you to be much younger, given your floyd idol worship and bumsniffery of other similar types on here, including the gary glitter fan(NEETsche) you were responding to.:fing02:

Most flom's maybe, but unlike you and your ilk, I'm not here looking to lick anyones hoop. The ol' contribution argument. Smart! You're in good company...The burner's and Larry x's of this world use that as a stock phrase.:lol1:
All joking aside, I thought his career trajectory was fine. I still saw him as very much a work in progress for most of that time. No two fighters have identical careers. as you have said, he has a better resume and more depth, so its hard to see what you're arguing here.

I am very shocked at that, to be honest.

The first fight I watched live was Muhammad Ali-Henry Cooper 2 aged 5 in 1966. I started to thoroughly follow Boxing in 1970. So think again.
What I am saying is his WBU run is not legitimate. What win does he have between 00-04 that is notable? That you would put amongst his best wins? None of them. None of them were ranked.
:lol1: Suggesting to me that I follow another sport. I think pretty much every solid poster on here would consider myself to bring more to the Forum than you do.

What do you actually mean by that? So his career before Tszyu was 'illegitimate'? Well, I guess thats him and most other fighters that have ever turned pro.
The world according to IronDan :- If you arent fighting world class fighters every time out, it just dont count.:usa2:
I very much doubt you would have been watching boxing for any amount of time before I was conceived(1976), if at all and even if you had then I suggest you watch another sport, because your attitude towards the sport sucks. Most flom's do.

spending your days crusading against 'floboners' at age 37. where did it all go wrong mate?
Not sure it has, mate. But at least I'm not pretending to be 13.....we know why men do that, dont we? you fooking Savile.
Very short of world level.
It's going back abit but I would highly doubt a single one of them were considered to be in the Top 20 at 140.
Tony Pep is now included? :lol1: You can't be serious.
How on this Earth was Tony Pep "just short of world level" at that time? He's never been close to world level ever.
So you're saying that you consider his WBU run to be a legitimate set of wins?
I don't know what "Top trumper" means but save the bullsh*t. I saw the entirety of Ricky Hatton's career when he was defending his fake belt against nobodies and scrubs and the fact you actually consider that to be legitimate is hilarious.
I was likely watching Boxing before your parents thought about conceiving you, so please.
I didn't say that Garcia's resume is as deep or as good as Hatton's. If you read my posts you can see that I said that Hatton has both more depth (Key word) and has the best win between them.
What I did say is it's close, which it is. Compare Garcia's career at the age of 25 to Hatton's. Garcia has obviously got his career going at the top level a lot quicker than Hatton did hence why he's on his way toward overtaking it.
What do you actually mean by that? So his career before Tszyu was 'illegitimate'? Well, I guess thats him and most other fighters that have ever turned pro.
