He put on a masterful performance last night dominated the fight yet receives ZERO credit because he decided that he needed to put in some silly catchweight because he was scared of Canelo. This thread is not about the fight its about Floyd's legacy so please do not delete or move the thread you holding on too tightly to the whole catch weight thing. fact remains Alvarez outweighed Mayweather by 15 pounds last night and it still wasn't enough, he made the weight just fine and did not have to kill himself to do it. his opponent was definitely comfortable as he says he likes for them to be, there was no issue here except that Canelo is not the better fighter no matter what the weight is.

What is this "credit" you are talking about? He doesn't need your "credit," the won the fight. If Canelo couldn't compete at 152 he shouldnt have agreed to fight Mayweather at 152. The CW had nothing to do with the outcome in Floyd Canelo or Pac Cotto, but Pac got 3 years of abuse for it so you'll understand why Floyd is not off the hook. But it's not a good parallel. DLH didn't carry any welter credentials, and Pac had no intention of going up to welter before Oscar tried to cherrypick him. He certainly wasn't a welter champ, much less 2x champ, when he asked for the CW from Cotto. It's irrelevant. He'd still fought at 147 before the Cotto fight so the point is moot.
