Hearing and seeing alot about Canelo having a hard time making weight. Is it possible if he comes in 154 or higher the fight is off. I have been having a feeling that the Garcia vs Lucas undercard wad made just for this scenario.
No way Floyd would walk away. He would be sued by everyone in Vegas for lost income. No one would do a fight with him again if he walked away from one of the biggest fights in history over 2 pounds. Be real.
The penalty's would be Canelo would lose his title no matter the outcome plus a hefty financial penalty. Plus I am sure they will have a clause that he can't re hydrate past a certain weight if he misses 152.
Don't think it matters. I have inside info that Canelo will make weight just fine tomarrow.
152 is just the limit in the contract, so there is probably a huge fine to pay per the contract but it would likely go on. The contract probably isnt public so unless they tell us we wont know what it is. If he comes in over 154 then the commission gets involved.
1m per pound over 152. Moot point though, he's not coming in over 152 guaranteed. I'm sure Oscar would be glad to pay it though.
164-166 fight night :boxing::boxing::boxing::boxing:
Juan was the same size that he KOed Manny at , and Manny was a pound bigger than Floyd at the weighin .
So do you just study all things Floyd day and night or what? Even though u don't admit to it you have to know you're a fanboy floyd groupie in a huge way right? There's no way anybody could be in this much denial. Am I right
Fight goes on unless he comes in wayyyyyyy over the limit. Too much time and money involved to stop it now unless it looks like Canelo made no effort to make weight at ll.
Yes, though Floyd will raise hell.
I think Floyd is pretty concious of doing anything hypocritical, and we all remember the Marquez weigh in.
Then again, he's also fighting at 152, so I don't know how messed up he is about contradicting himself.
how can floyd say no?
I mean he can say no and cancel the fight, but how would that look?
Im floyd, a 2x 154lb champion who has fought twice at full 154lbs vs oscar and cotto, but wont fight canelo because he came in at 154lbs, the same division where I am a 2x champion???
FLOYD WOULD ABSOLUTELY GET DESTROYED IN THE MEDIA IF HE CANCELLED A JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT FIGHT BECAUSE HIS OPPONENT CAME IN AT JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT.
LOL i would love for that to happen.
I hope Canelo does come in at 154 , he did it to Hatton with a 150 CW and then came at 152 .
Then when Floyd beats him your lot are dead in the water wont that be fun LOL .

Given Canelo has a history of missing weight, and the importance of weight to this fight (hence the catch weight) I would imagine there are huge financial penalties per pound over the weight missed (e.g 40pc of Canelo's purse per pound).
if he comes in over the fight will still happen, Mayweather not walking away from all that Money even if he weigh in at 160 lol
Mayweather should hope he comes in at 154 and the fight goes on because that will eliminate ALL EXCUSES!
^this right here I would burn Floyds mansion to the ground if they canceled the fight over weight.
are you in vegas yet? i can't f#Cking wait! i'm touching down in vegas @ 1130 tomorrow.
Damn, you going to the fight, boss?
I'm all types of...

yup, hed have to give up all his bread and would have a cap on rehydration...
whats funny about all this is that Mayweather is the smaller man but he gets all the criticism, how does that even make sense...
The saying, pick on someone your own size does not apply to mayweather cause everyone wants to see him lose, sad...
Was Marquez his size?? :usa2:
Obv the fight would still happen, attempting to get out of th fight based on 1-2 pounds would make Mayweather look like a *****. Having said that, from what I've heard Canelo has or should hit 152 today with no problems.
regarding a cap on rehydration if he misses the 152 catchweight ... short of another fine lol(the guy would end up losing money at this rate) what's to stop him saying f*ck it to that too?

If Canelo comes in over the catch weight limit does the fight still happen? | BoxingScene Community
