And after Floyd gives up 15-20 lbs on fight night and dominates or TKO's him...then what?
You and the others going to cry about the 2 lbs the day before Canelo said "he'll easily make 152" that he also said would help him with his quickness?
You clowns are watching an ATG right now and you're too stupid to even realize it. smh...
I dont cry about CW's. The "Future" signed the contract and thats all i need to know that he will be ok. And yes i do realize we are watching an ATG as i have mentioned in the past but the time has come for a new face and Canelo is it. Floyd will lose
Bump the theoretical bs...Ali is the greatest. He was an icon that has not yet been reproduced in the sport, and never was in the sport until he came. History heads can tout their anecdotal knowledge and cite that this or that fighter fought more but who cares. Greatness isn't all tied up in just that. Its a transcendental statement that encompasses more than ticking off opponents like numbers in an accounting firm. Its about impact too.
Based on that criteria Floyd has a case to be top ten all time before he retires for good. He has changed the game and the face of the sport, much like atg's before him have, but arguably more so than most but a chosen few.
You do realise that cheesy feta is an arch floydiot? He doesnt really think Canelo will win, he knows floyd is going to win as do the rest of us. He's only done that so he can try and elevate the stature of the win higher than it should be. Either that or he is just really dumb.
Or maybe i just really believe that Floyd bit off more than he can chew here and am ready for a change in this sport. I believe Floyd is the best of this era no question but Sat night a new King will be crowned. Canelo will catch him and it will be over.
If Floyd schools my boy then yes i will give him credit as EVERYONE should but this NSB so i wont expect it. But if Canelo wins, as i think he will, then the flip flopping will be historic. :boxing::dance::boxing:
Show me once where i ever said Floyd will win this fight. I have never thought that

Pathetic, isn't it.
How many casual fans know Archie Moore or Henry Armstrong or Harry Greb, do they even have the vaguest ideas of what those guys did, they might know the name Willie Pep and the legend of him winning a round without throwing a punch but do they know Barney Ross (if they know the name it will be because that is Sly's name in The Expendables) who Pep always had a tough time with.
Hell even with Ray Robinson if you asked someone to explain why he is great you will get some kind of stock answer that is short on real insight.
I don't fault them on that though, they are what they are and really if you got down to brass tacks most people here might know the names but when it came down to reasons they would sound a lot like a casual fan explaining why Ray Robinson is the best.

So these same casual fans that seem to not know what they're talking about/seeing when they voted Ali & SRR as 1 & 2 (And you had no problem there), have no idea when they rank Floyd at #5 all time?
Talk about picking the corn out of a pile of shyt, jesus!
My dude, relax. You are missing my point.
There are a number of guys not on the list that we as hardcore fans would know that casual fans wouldn't. That's why I think the list is problematic. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But everyone's opinion isn't informed or unbiased.
History will be very kind to Floyd with the only knock being a loss to Canelo.

But according to people on here I thought everyone was going to remember Floyd as a coward fraud duck? :dunno:

I think 2 important things can be determined by the results:
ESPN has no idea who are the best boxers of all time so its taken with a grain of salt.
Clearly the casual sports fan feels very different about floyd than hardcore fans. This may explain why he sells so much. Casual fans believe they are paying to watch one of the 5 greatest boxers ever.So these same casual fans that seem to not know what they're talking about/seeing when they voted Ali & SRR as 1 & 2 (And you had no problem there), have no idea when they rank Floyd at #5 all time?

People talk about Floyd's resume and I challenge anyone on this board to show me a better resume over the last 5-7 years. Floyd has beaten 7 World Champions and 5 future HOF'ers in that span.
To be honest, people talk about being "informed vs not informed" here, but the biases are so over the top that I'm not so sure the Boxing IQ here is any higher than the "Casuals" to be honest about it.
I post what I feel and think. If I dont think floyd is wrong or if I agree with something controversial I am not going to go with NSB to get other posters to like me more or for them to validate my opinion.
WHen I question the logic or reasoning of another poster that is always called defending floyd. Thats not defending him, thats asking a poster to prove what they wrote.
Overrated or out of bounds are opinions, not facts. Every opinion, including mine, can be questioned.
Fair enough. You should be in politics though.
A bit high, but to be expected from the audience polled who aren't hard core boxing heads.
Just makes me laugh who dog Floyd's legacy or importance to this era, but it is good to laugh.
Thats fine with me dude. I would disagree that floyd is the best of all time. The point of my post was the ESPN voters likely don't know enough about the sport as a whole so their rankings would be questionable.
He isnt the best skillwise? Im not biased for Floyd btw. But people make it seem like he cherrypicks random bums from mexico. I think his fightlist was unimpressive, but the performances he out on post Hatton, really sealed the deal for me. I dont think I have ever seen or heard of a fighter with the combination of skills he has, and the ability to calmly dominate like that. Ducking Pacman wont blind people from seeing that. And what he does to Canelo is gonna be completely different from what he did to Ghost. He plans to overwhelm Canelo with combinations and abundance of experience as a tool against Canelo's stamina. This fight itself will furthermore blind people from caring about who he ducked. I CANT WAIT THE WHOLE CARD GONNA BE FIRE!!!
You know...its completely OK for you to say that Floyd should not be in the 10 of all time and still be a fan of his. You dont need to spin everything to defend him---thats what posers and groupies do. And if you are the informed, hardcore fan you are, it shouldnt be a problem to acknowledge the times when Floyd is overrated or out of bounds.

You bugging. I think every fighter has a legacy for different reasons, and all of them have ducked except Ali. But I have never seen a fighter with Floyd's skills. He has a legacy for being the actual BEST fighter of all time. Best as in skillwise. He's not like Willie Pep and Pernell. He's more of a counterpuncher, with i.q. ability to adjust, etc. So many abilities. I think he has the potential to be the greatest ever with a few more good wins.
Thats fine with me dude. I would disagree that floyd is the best of all time. The point of my post was the ESPN voters likely don't know enough about the sport as a whole so their rankings would be questionable.
Casual fans have their own minds. They have a opinion just like you and I. I don't think its a case of true or false. More like informed or uninformed and unbiased or biased.
