Apparently Ricky Burns Dislocated his jaw in the 2nd round hence why his performance wasn't the best, Are you buying in to this excuse?
I imagine Jaw injuries ti be quite painful i highly doubt Burns went 10 more rounds taking hard shots with an injury like that
so getting hit with a clean, legal punch on the chin is cause for excuses to be made?
he got hit wtih big left hooks all night. credit to beltran for having power @ 135, and shame burns for leaving his chin hanging out there.

its pretty difficult to fight with a broken anything. So of course he's not at his best if you break something early in the fight
He broke his jaw in combat, so it's not an excuse. Quite frankly, Ray is too well-schooled for him and would beat a healthy Burns too, which says a lot about the standard of British boxing when Pacquiao's sparring partner comes here and utterly schools one of the few champs we have left.
I wouldn't diminish the courage it took to keep fighting on with such a bad injury. But let's keep it real - he wanted to quit, and it was only the foresight of his trainer (knowing that a robbery was still a possibility) who managed to get him a draw.
Couldn't have put any better. People are forgetting it was Beltran who did the damage to Ricky's jaw!
It's not an excuse, he left it out there to get hit. Still, he showed a lot of heart fighting on because he kept getting cracked on it.
Yeah!! He showed a lot of heart holding!! If your gonna show heart you fight, not cover up and hold. You gotta go out there and try, if your not then don't come out of your corner

your right, hes lucky its dislocated and not broken,

No on ever questioned Burns' heart and grit.

Obviously it would hinder his performance. He was primarily focused on protecting his jaw instead of actually fighting.
The overriding thing though is that Burns isn't that good. I've been saying it for years. He has proved me wrong on a number of occasions but the last two fights have shown me what I always believed about him. He's actually overachieved to be where he is right now.

it doesn't work as an excuse because if burns had fought better he wouldn't have busted his jaw in the first place. it's a consequence of his loss, not the cause of it
