Ortiz is a douche. I get it. But people don't give him enough credit. Ortiz was strong, had speed and he could crack. He just couldn't fight going backwards to save his life, couldn't counter punch and just not that smart. But he was dangerous.
I mainly say Hatton was dangerous because of his style. Hatton's fast feet and constant pressure made Floyd very uncomfortable at times in that fight. He just slowed down and became an easier target coming in.
Ortiz was definitely more dangerous to me than Hatton tho I agree.
Cotto is not shot.
Perhaps the most dangerous since Cotto or De La Hoya.
De La Hoya was slow and past his prime. But he was big. That's about it.
Cotto is shot man. That isn't even debatable.
Cotto was shot IMO. I think at the end of the day, he wasn't very dangerous. And let's be real, when there was talks of Cotto fighting Canelo, a lot of folks didn't want to see it because they thought Canelo would murder Cotto. Floyd was sick the night of the Cotto fight, that made it closer than it really was. Cotto was and is damaged goods.
Mosley was dangerous because he could still crack, but he was also shot. He looked great against Margs but older fighters can look great against slow punching bags. Fighting faster guys changes everything.
Ortiz was dangerous. He hits as hard as Canelo if not harder. He is just as fast if not fast. He can box a bit. But compared to Canelo, he isn't as smart. I think in terms of danger, these 2 are very close. Canelo might still be slightly more dangerous due to better defense, smarter etc.
Hatton was dangerous, but turned out, he was just too small for Welterweight.
If you really think about it, this is Floyd's most dangerous fight in MANY years....not even factoring his age.
Miguel Cotto. One of the most disrespected fighters on this board. He was game that night and could have made it interesting if he closed the last 4 rounds.
