God knows what the Ref was thinking.
He was knocked out against the ropes and he let Whitaker unload about another 7 or something clean, solid punches to his face :lol1:
That's one of Whitaker's defining moments.
Yeah, pretty sure it's okay to stop the fight when the other guy's falling out of the ring and looks unconscious.
I agree ref was not on point, but that showed you the difference between an elite fighter and a contender,an Elite fighter can turn it up and end it when he has to

Yea he did beat the living hell out of him,no doubt it was brutal

Whitaker nearly killed him, the stoppage was ridiculously late.
That's what he's referring to.
I legitmately thought he might have killed him.

what you mean??lol

Floyd is the one few guys today who fights mean. You're supposed to want to hurt your opponent, not constantly touch gloves. If you're asking if he would rise to the occasion and fight back, then yes. I though you were asking if he could KO a guy like that and it would depend on the opponent.
yes, totally agree. he deff isn't in there to be friends. the Ortiz fight is a perfect example of this.i doubt many boxers would swing with there opponents hands down
The Whitaker/Hurtado fight is one of the reasons why I like a Mayweather/Alexander matchup. I would love to see Floyd play the role of the aggressor, cut the ring off and be on the offensive most of the fight.
But I think he could pull it off. He is great at making in-fight adjustments and he's a very good offensive fighter when he wants to be.
Mayweather would easily sit at range and pop Alexander over and over and over. Alexander wouldn't be remotely competitive or make Mayweather do anything.
As to the thread, Mayweather kind of did this against Judah, though he was nowhere near in danger of losing like Whitaker against Hurtado. He was having trouble at distance, made the change and started beating the hell out of Judah. Would have stopped him if not for the low blow and the melee.
No one should really be doubting whether Mayweather can be aggressive if he needs to be. We've seen it.
Floyd looked great playing the aggressive role against Ortiz. He cuts the ring off beautifully. But to answer the question, I think if you push Floyd against the wall, he's gonna force himself to come out on top. That's why I can't wait till the day someone finally lands a knockdown on him. I think you'll see a murderer get up.
Damn right

I agree with you,he may not be a ko artist but he is not your friend in the ring at all

I think people look at the flash of Floyd to much and do not see the FIGHTER inside of him, this guy is TOUGH and can dig as deep as it takes when need be.When he gets hurt he makes it a point to make the opponent pay

if you tell floyd he needs a ko to win or he knows he needs a ko he'll come to fight and he wont be shy about it neither, he will brawl with you
that's what i believe
Props to you man, never expected a post like this from you

he already shows glimpses of this whenever he is hurt, and by the end of those round who's the one on the backfoot? not floyd
All depends, but against Castillo he was made to do things he normally doesn't do, he went southpaw, even exchanged when he didn't want to, so if Floyd is ever down on the cards I do expect him to turn it up.
That Whitaker-Hurtado ending was crazy, I think he landed like 10 overhand lefts right?
Yes that ending was what movies are made of,he showed the world why he was a certified ATG...not everyone can pull that off,it takes that extra something
Do you think if he was in a situation where he had to have a ko he could pull it off?
