“If he had other ways the fighter can make more money or do this or that, I get that. But we offered him $250,000 for Murray to fight Peter Quillin, and Quillin was willing to go to the U.K. in November or December.
I guess fighting for a belt and having hometown advantage would add to the incentive, but $250,000 still seems kind of weak.
This is one of those risk-vs-reward situations that drive fans crazy.
They money is fine, but the question is does Hatton want to go ahead and cash Murray in? They know there's lots of opportunity down the road, and like Ricky said recently "If I'd fought Tszyu when I wanted to, two years earlier, I'd of lost."
Hatton wants put Murray in some easier fights and hopefully navigate him to an easier title win.
Risk is offset a little here due to Chocolate coming over there to his home country. Also 250k Might not be Martinez money, maybe even a little less than Golovkin..... but that's still pretty good money. Not a lot of people I see paying him more than that.
What he could be doing now is just waiting to try and get a shot at Barker to trade shots....nothing wrong with challenging Chocolate in the meanwhile. I dont' know the whole Brit boxing situation down there, but somebody said Hatton teaming up with Warren and boxnation puts a hamper in a domestic Barker fight

All this bickering seems a bit pointless when you don't know the full terms.
MM has visa issues to go state side so that will play in to any offer.
Neither Murray or Barker are exactly household names in the Uk at the moment.
And neither is the champ for that matter...
So 250k is looking like a really sweet deal.... as for the Visa problems, Chocolate going to the UK seems even sweeter. That's a winnable fight for him and Chocolate is gift wrapping himself.
IMO, a win like that for chocolate would move him a little over Golovkin.
Murray gave Martinez more trouble than Macklin and Choco would have went overseas to defend in somebodies home country

He got $500k.
Dont' know, but according to fat dan, serg made 1 million to Dzin's 850k.
Seeing as Sergio was at home, Sergio probably made close to 2 million while Murray made close to or a little over 1 million
NVM... I was half over.
Still good money to go into Sergio's house and fight for his title.
Half of that against a champ visiting your country seems like a good deal.
Would he even make that much against Barker?
How much did Murray get paid to fight Sergio in Argentina?

Hatton re-tweeted this:
@HitmanHatton Well said Ricky, Murrays had back 2 back World Title Fights yet Schaefer says Hatton Promotions don't know what they're doing.— Boxing King (@BoxingSports1) August 28, 2013
Don't blame Murray, this one had robbery written all over it
There was a high chance of this fight ending in a knockout imo. Money to one side, if GBP were serious I'm disappointed the fight wasn't made. Very winnable fight for MM.
10 people in US would watch Murray...but maybe all of UK. So perhaps he deserves another 10K.
If that were even a quarter true he'd be a very rich man.
In reality, Murray isn't a household name here and even if people wanted to watch him they'd have to subscribe to BoxNation which for the vast majority of people isn't possible anywhere but online so they couldn't watch it on tv.
how about murray takes the UK money and quillin gets whatever they can generate in the US?
i bet schaefer wouldn't like that because even if quillin is a champion he's a ****ing undercard fighter in the US.
That shopworn Martinez is still the best and most proven fighter in the division and he pummeled him the last half of the fight. Also that Sturm fight, that was in germany. Unless you outhustle Sturm at home you're not taking anything away from him.
Murray's losses far outshine Chocolate's wins
Murray's losses far outshine Chocolate's wins:thinking: OKay..

Sure thing bud!
How has he done more than Kid Choc and what has he proven?? That he can hang with an injured/shop worn Martinez. Sturm isn't and never was all that. Look @ Sturm's record after he fought Oscar. He fought B and C level fighters. He was KO by a shell of him former self Francisco Javier Castillejo he was 38 and @ the end of his career .Sturm refused to fight the likes of Jtaylor, Pavlik, Bhop, Abraham, and Miranda whom were the cream of the crop @ middle weight during Sturm's run which I've already posted. Strum turned down GGG over and over, GGG was his Mando. His performances wasn't all that! GGG vs Rosado, vs Macklin, vs Proska are elite performances. Kid Choc vs Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam whom was undefeated and a top 5 middle weight by different sanctions was elite performance dropped him 5-6 times, don't want to hear Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam won. Kid Choc vs Fernando G was elite a performance.

What makes him better is his performances against his two biggest fights of his career against two titleholders.
Two fights people could have seen going his way.
He's worth more than that because he's a proven fighter who's done more than Chocolate despite Chocolate being the belt holder
Fighting on his own turf is something that comes as an added bonus of GBP for some reason, don't know why they're doing that.

Murray was having trouble with Martinez's movement early in the fight, until Martinez was wore down. Some had to do with Murray and some had to do with his rehabing. Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam is a supreme mover with supreme condition.
