Mikkel Kessler wants a third showdown with Carl Froch.

The Dane admits that a decider is the one fight he craves, just over three months since he was out-pointed by the Cobra at the O2 Arena.
That defeat left the record all square at 1-1 between the two super-middleweight stars and Kessler says it would be impossible to turn down a third bout.
"But now I have to be honest; I have to take a vacation and think about things. But you always have to I think and it's intelligent to be a little more wiser!
"Some other fighters take one or two fights too many. I have been fighting for so many years, and if I take a lot of beatings in my career it's not good for my health - and that's number one.
"I would go back to London," he said.
I went to the fight at the o2 and it was an amazing night.. I was at the front of the seating about 2 metres away from Froch when he got lifted up on the platform. Atmosphere was insane, I have watched the fight back and you hear Buffer counting down from 10.. but where I was you couldn't hear him at all.
Initially I was against a 3rd fight but it makes sense to happen. However, I would like to see Kessler get 1 or 2 good wins under his belt again.
No doubt the 3rd fight would be another war, it can't be anything else.
Don't think anyone would have the appetite for a 3rd fight.
Well I wouldn't anyway.
I would LOVE to see them mix it up again.....their styles mix well together....I wouldn't mind a tie breaker
Froch is the money man; he can sell-out a venue in the UK fighting a nobody. The same cannot be said for Andre.
Exactly. Don't know what this guy is on about. Ward is desperate for a PPV fight and Froch is one of the only fighters he can get that with. Unless he goes after Chavez Jr.
I'm talking about what Froch has done since his lopsided defeat against Ward. Bute had never fought a A level fighter before, and Kessler is someone that Ward already beat. Are these two wins enough to generate interest in a Ward rematch? I'm not talking about Froch fans or british boxing fans, I'm talking about mainstream boxing fans worldwide. If Froch unifies the titles then a fight against Ward would be for all the marbles, now that's something that would garner a lot of interest.

The interest is already there. That's why HBO sent Ward to England to commentate on the fight and they wanted him to be in Froch's fighter meeting. Whether you agree or not, Bute and Kessler were the numbers 2/3 in the division. Froch has already unified the IBF and WBA. The fight isn't going to get any bigger if Froch beats no name Steiglitz. Wtf?
Froch has accumulated a list of world class fighters already. He has quite literally fought everyone that matters at 168. Including Bute who Ward refused to deal with himself and Kessler who had a win over him. There's no one left for Froch to beat.

As a whole, Froch's resume at 168 *****s on Wards. His resume is much deeper. Ward has 3 or 4 good wins, Froch has 6-7.
Froch is more than deserving of another shot.
At this stage there's not one single fighter Froch can beat which would earn him a rematch with Ward, but the accumulation of worldclass fighters he beats (and the accumulation of titles) can earn him a rematch.

It's not tough at all when said guy hasn't fought in a year while you've been handling business by beating the other top fighters in the division.
Unifying the titles? So beat Steiglitz? Oh I'm sorry beating Bute and Kessler isn't enough but beating the formidable Steiglitz is? :lol1:

Yawn..... Wouldn't really want to see the third unless Kessler gets a good win. He had flashes of brilliance, but was pretty clearly not able to keep up with Carl in the rematch.
Why does Kessler need Froch? Not for money purposes that's for damn sure.
Of course Froch is champion now, and Kessler isn't so that's obvious.
Froch is his biggest payday and his biggest fight out there.
I don't know, it's tough to earn a rematch against a guy who thoroughly dominated you. Unifying the titles would be a good start.

Let's be clear here, Kessler needs Froch - Froch doesn't need Kessler.

I can tell you it's true. If not more.
I can also tell you that Kessler would probably make as much if not more than Froch will against Groves, fighting someone like Stieglitz or Abraham in Copenhagen. The guy is a major PPV attraction in Denmark, and unlike in the UK, his PPV goes for £60.
And he's a household name, which Froch still isn't.
And just so we are clear here, Froch made his highest payday vs Kessler. Not the other way around.

Yep. There we have it folks. Nobody is worthy of a fight with Ward. Ward is so good that he should just retire.
Apparently you didn't read my last sentence where I said Ward needs to move up and get in the mix with the top 175 lbers. I guess there's nobody to fight over there huh?
What exactly would Froch have else to do to earn a rematch against the untouchable Ward?

I don't know nor care if that's true.
The Froch fight is his only payday RIGHT NOW.
