Who hurt Mayweather the most?
He has been pushed before and had difficult nights but the only time I've seen his legs buckle was in the 3rd Round against Mosley. Mosley had him stunned earlier in the round but then a big overhand right had him reeling.
I don't recall him being hurt any worse than this, anyone elaborate?
I've never seen any boxer enjoy fighting like Augustus did. You should watch that fight, as I do about 3-4 times a year. Mayweather had always said that this was his toughest fight...even though Augustus had a record of about 20-15 or worse. He's another lost champion, for want of good management and trainers. Never a dull moment with him. If he'd had any sort of heavy punch he's probably have stopped Mayweather somewhere in that fight. It was "hammer-and-tongs" all the way and Mayweather really was pushed to fight and took more punches in that fight than any other, at least unitl recently. They were fighting at lightweight and Augustus, although a 130 lber used to move un and down between that and 140 and would fight at a few days notice. Often got jobbed..
Always loved watching Augustus, I remember around 2006 he had a documentary crew following him and would continue to do so until he won a world title.
That never happened but wonder what happened to the documentary footage, would love to see it.
You know what? Upon second viewing of the short clip, you're probably right. Corley's shot buckles Floyd but also makes him drop his guard and for a second his composure.
I'm gonna go back (shocking for the internet!): Corley > SSM
I've never seen the Augustus fight (just one of those that i never got around to).

probably the best vid u can find of Floyds chin gettin checced. Goes thru his whole career basically. Funny thing is Sharmba Mitchell is like the only person to catch floyd with a CLLLLEAAAN 1,2 before floyd could get that high guard up lol
Mosley hurt in the 2nd badly. Corley hurt him twice. Once with a left that buckled his legs but for some reason Corley did not attack him. Then he hurt him again at the start of the next round.
In the Cotto fight, either the 5th or 6th round towards the beginning of the round, Cotto came in with a odd left hook and I think he hurt Floyd. His legs buckled but he played it off well. If you don't look for it, you won't see it. But he was hurt for a second.
You will have to ask floyd to get the correct answer,,,
but i think we all agree that it comes down to shane and corley
augustus
zab
cotto
oscar
JLC
were all able to land some good shots, but nothing that compared to what shane and corley landed
mosley is the only fighter i think really hurt him, chop chop and judah just stunned him momentarily. as you would expect a lot of ppl want to milk it for all its worth but it really wasnt much of anything.
I think the Corley shot had the most effect. He was badly hurt with that punch.
He's been buzzed a few times.
Cotto buzzed him in the 6th, Judah stunned him momentarily in the 4th, Oscar hit him with a clean right in the 11th I think that stunned him for a few seconds.
Mayweather's good at masking when he's buzzed at times but sometimes he also makes it a little obvious to those who have studied his career.
For example, you can see when Mosley rocks him that straight away he goes straight into the high guard, that's usually the his natural reaction.
In the 6th in the Cotto fight, right at the start of the Round Cotto lands a left and momentarly stuns him and similarly he goes straight into the high guard and retreats.
Cotto dont belong in this thread, he had absolutely zero respect for Cotto's power
He went to high guard because cotto would fight orthodox in the middle of the ring, but when pushed Floyd to the ropes he would go southpaw and scrape away with the straight lefts, Floyd adjusted though....

Back and forth Barn Burner; truly a great fight breh
Mosley hurt him pretty bad on two occasions in that 2nd round. I know Chop Chop hit him with an overhand right (might have been a right hook) that buzzed him pretty good too. I don't think anyone else has hurt him.
Judah, Hatton, Mosley, and I believe Cotto hurt him early, though I can't find a clip of the latter. I remember Judah beating Mayweather to the punch the 1st 3 rounds actually was out-countering mayweather.
Here's a few slow mo clips I could find from the Judah fight

here's a clip that shows some of the Hatton punches, Mosley's, as well as Judah's.. Judah's hit on Mayweather should've been ruled a KD, as Mayweather's glove touched the canvas.

Hatton clealry didn't hurt Mayweather in that first round. He's clearly caught off balance and on steady legs straight away.

Hatton did not hurt Floyd, he stumbled when hit with a jab.
