Only for the brave ...
This thread exists for the purpose of allowing (nay, enticing!) our fine forum members to be willing to share what they know full well are MINORITY opinions having to do with the sport of boxing. C'mon, post up, boxionados! Who cares who disagrees? Anyone game? I'll start ...
James Toney is perhaps my least favorite champion in my lifetime.
G'head. Get out your flamethrowers! :firedevil
Whatcha got, peeps?
Dirty laundry from the UK......
Frank Bruno was hugely entertaining and likeable, but undoubtedly one of the weakest world HW champions of the modern era.
Eubank and Benn should have fought a prime Toney to establish their reputations beyond the UK.
Azumah Nelson would have smoked McGuigan.
I miss Naseem Hamed.
Lots of Joe Calzaghe's WBO defences were rubbish, dull and he deserved some of the criticism that came his way.
Witter would have given Hatton a nightmare and should have been given the opportunity to fight Ricky.
I kinda of enjoy watching old Joe Bugner fights on You Tube.
I watched most of Sergio Martinez vs Paul Williams 1 standing next to Haymon.
Really? Neat. Did you happen to say hello to him? (I usually don't when I'm near someone famous -- feeling like they get that all the time and I don't want to bother them. Phil Sims was a bit of an exception b/c he was quite friendly.)
Confession: I would not recognize Al Haymon if I saw him. Would you guys? Funny, I know what Leonard Ellerbe, Richard Schaefer, and Sam Watson all look like, but not Mr. Haymon. Is he just more behind the scenes?

I watched most of Sergio Martinez vs Paul Williams 1 standing next to Haymon. He wasn't ringside he was standing towards the back row of the lower level seats. Lou Dibella spent a lot of time in that area during the undercard. Went ringside for the main event.
predicting a split decision or a majority decision or a majority draw or anything but a decision or KO is stupid

I thought Bradley outworked Pac enough in many rounds to earn a close decision....
When I saw the fight live, I scored it a draw and expected them to give it to Pac. I was as shocked as everyone else when Bradley got the nod. Honestly, I think Manny took a lot of rounds off and wasn't active enough.
A thousand times this. WAR BRADLEY!!!!
He's ringisde at a few fights, just got to keep your eyes open. I rewatched Taylor-Pavlik I last night, he's there.
Ah, I see. Here he is ...

Al Haymon (for any who like me aren't familiar)
Surprised I haven't seen him interviewed more. Probably prefers it that way.
Roy Jones is one of the most over hyped fighters in boxing.
He had a new style that worked well for a while, but after Tarver took him to the ropes we found out that Roy couldn't handle pressure. After that Roy lost his confidence, and became very beatable.
After moving down from heavyweight, Roy was done.

I find the lighter weight classes (126 and below) BORING! I'm not sure why. I watch a lot of the fights, however. I just can't have a favorite fighter or even weight class.
Anyone want to educate me on the lower weight classes? I like Mares and Rigo, but that's about it.
Juan Francisco Estrada is pretty damn good if you're looking at small guys. Look to the japanese scene too as they have a few guys making a lot noise.

For all those that get turned off by Ali...I can understand. Ali doesn't always come to fight. Walks around...clowns around...and punches like a girl. But then he turns it on.
I bascially only watch asian fighters. Floyd mayweather i never wanted to see any of his fights and only do when it live. I never watch a replay or rerun of his fights. Rigondeuax's style irritates me. I have never watched a muhammad ali fight in its entirty because he only had good exciting fights with fraizer. Matthysse is better than garcia. The american amatuer boxers think their good but in reality they suck balls. Europe and asia dominate the world of boxing.
I don't enjoy watching any of Ali fights , except Thrilla in Manilla
and I just watch his interviews and documentaries
Glad you felt free to voice your 'secret', Mezo, but I've got to ask: "How can you not love Frazier-Ali I?!" It would make my short list of greatest fights ever.
