Chris Arreola made changes to his training camp for his September 7th fight against Seth Mitchell that will be televised by Showtime. Arreola normally trains at home in Southern California but decided to get away from the distractions of home and train for this fight in Arizona. The 32-year-old Mexican American spoke to us on BoxingScene Radio about his decision to move his camp.
"I went to Arizona because I can't trust myself. I can't put the blame on anyone else. I could always find a reason not to go to the gym. I could stop and see an oil change place and say hey I need an oil change and stay there," Arreola half jokingly stating while saying he isn't a fan of the desert. "I hate the heat. The heat is hotter than shit but I love boxing so I need to do it." Click Here To Read More]
Mitchell, despite coming to boxing late, almost certainly trains harder than Arreola ("I could always find a reason not to go to the gym"). So it's a bit hypocritical for Arreola to suggest that he's any more a real boxer than Mitchell.
So what have we learned about both fighters? We know what Mitchell is. A very limited and easily dropped ok fighter at best. There's no mystery with him. He doesn't have some amazing talent we haven't yet seen. He isn't going to miraculously get better. Yes, he can bang, yes he's trying really hard now to box, but it just isn't within him. Will he go 10-12 with Arreola and not get dropped? I kinda doubt it. And we all know what happens after Arreola drops a fighter. He usually finishes them.
As for Arreola, we do know he's relentless and he can bang. Is he lazy in the training camp? We all know he is. Has he made some changes in camp this time? Will it actually work out for once? Those are the big questions we will soon find the answers to.
I've never liked Arreola, but I will this once give him the benefit of the doubt. It's up to him to prove everyone wrong about his dedication to the sport.
Funny how pillow nose Arreola never mentions revenge on Stivierne??
Lol! Maybe because stiverne is vitali's màndatory. He won 't get a rematch as he lost in a final eliminator... Stiverne has bigger fish to fry & arreola knows he has no leverage...

To be fair, he had an interview as he was leaving the arena after the fight with stiverne and said he wanted the rematch, it just so happened that they matched him up against mitchell
Truth be told Arreola is gonna get schooled if he doesn't get Mitchell out of there early. Might as well go as far as to say Mitchell may knock Arreola out in the later rounds but we'll see.
Define "schooled"
Arreola always makes for action fights
it's just hard to take him seriously because he's a fatass
he can't be striving too hard to be a champ looking like he does
if he loses this one, he's smart to retire
the guy has already lost to the best fighters he's faced
I wouldn't say he's garbage because he's beaten some decent fighters. He's beaten the journeymen & throws some nice power combinations but his defence is weak which exposes his chin. He's pretty decent for a football player. I think he can have a decent career. He has only lost once. Yes he's been down a few times but so have many others. Too early to completely disregard him as a fighter. One big punch is all it takes in the HW division...
mitchell has shown that he cant take a shot he has been hurt numerous times
i like him as a person, sounds like a great guy but he cant win this fight chris hopefully comes in shape this fight does not go over 6 rounds if chris is on form hes too seasoned and aggressive and i dont actually think michell hits that hard tbh.
Arreola should retire now, he sucks
Arreola sucks, lazy mother f*****. Retire now before Deontay Wilder gives you brain damage. You ain't going nowhere, your to small and fat.
Mexican boxers dont really retire
They have nothing else to do. I expect margo to come back at some poin to headline his own promotion. Sad to say but true.
Arreola should have got his weight in check and got with nacho or roach 4 yrs ago. Moron stayed with his inexperienced team cause he calls the shots,
Results dont lie.
My gut tells me that Arreola will win, just due to the sheer fact that he's the more experienced and skilled fighter. However I'm not writing off Mitchell altogether like many posters here are. Mitchell is a big puncher and good finisher and he seems much more dedicated to the sport than does Arreola. I also admire his courage to face an opponent like Arreola so soon after struggling in two fights against Jon Banks. Unlike Wilder, Mitchell has stepped up his level of opposition.

he should. mitchell is a really nice and classy guy so i dont like saying it, but truth be told he is kind of garbage as far as his ability is concerned. even for the HW division.
