No way Canelo comes in at 152...154 or even higher on fight night!

I think he will make the contract weight of 152 and weight about 167 on the fight night weigh in. People forget that on those fight night weights the fighters are not weighed stipped to their underwear. They weigh them shortly before they go in the ring so they are wearing boxing shoes, foul protector, boxing trunks and boxing gloves. That stuff is not weightless. It probably totals over three pounds. They don't subtract that from the weight the fighter shows on the scale because they like to shock people with the huge difference between weigh in weight and fight night weight. Gaining more than ten pounds or so between the weigh in and the fight can do a boxer more harm than good.Canelo is a man of his word in my opinion. Plus Floyd might be able to refuse to fight if Canelo does not make the contract weight. I am not sure about that.Seriously and you know this how??

EDIT ::: WEIGH IN I think Canelo's gonna make weight. People need to research on how Boxers (and MMA fighters) cut weight. It's almost science and you need people documenting your every meal, training regimen, etc because cutting weight the wrong way can cause mass amount of problems (especially for a fighter). I think what Canelo's team are doing is getting to around 160-162 and training mostly under that weight. With about a week and half before the fight they'll start to drop the weight gradually until the day of the weigh in and he'll tank up on fluids immediately after. If Canelo was around 165 a week out, then I'd say he's in trouble. But based on what I've seen, I don't think we're gonna see a Cotto for the Malignaggi weigh in http://tinyurl.com/259csu3 To add: I think Canelo may look like how Cotto did for the Pacquiao weigh in when he had to drop an additional pound to what he'd usually make (146). Cotto would be around 165-166 walking around and would cut to 146 (around a 18-20lb drop). I think Canelo is on a similar path. The question is whether his stamina will play a factor and or how much weight he's going to put on after the weigh in.

It wouldn't surprise me if he came in at 154. Then Mayweather can think to himself "you know from the other side that's kind of annoying."

Are you talking fight night or weigh in? NOBODY expects him to be anywhere nears 152 or 154 come fight night. He'll be closer to 170. He'll make weight at the weigh in. I'm not sure how easy but he'll make weight. What this guy said
