im watching ouma vs. golovkin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSPgaSKCr8U] i loved watchin him coming up and he was the goods until around the jermain taylor fight. even here, out of prime, he's showing good defensive movement and sticking a nice jab. big heart on this dude because he took some bombs. any of you younger cats that never seen him, i suggest checking out some of his fights between 2003-2006. to me, this is a fighter that shouldnt be forgotten. not a hall of famer, but someone who should be mentioned here and there Ouma had such a tough life that he feared no man in the ring. I remember him talking about his past life where he had to do things because he was ordered to. I hope he saved his money because he really earned every single dollar.

Golovkin looked awful in that fight. I watch that performance and wonder if we're seeing the same person today. Kassim the dream has a great story. Some will already know but he's a former child soldier in Uganda and has had a movie made about him. Didn't he also get shot down in Miami or somewhere?

Ouma looked real good coming up and winning the title. Unraveled along the way though.

Nah...excuses ain't appropriate, every fighter must have similar stories, but it was Rosado who GGG was ill against. In the Ouma fight he spent 2 or 3 days prior to the weigh in stuck at an airport with visa issues. Ended up going straight from Panama airport to the weigh in, but had hardly eaten in 2-3 days 'cos he had no way of tracking his weight. Not the best prep physical or mental. Sanchez reckons it's the only time he hasn't been sure GGG would win. And he still wrecked him. GGG is the boogeyman.

i think him and wright would be FOTY kinda fight. 2 busy fighters who cant knock out top guys. lots of good inside action...probably turn out like a toney-jirov fight. ironically, toney and jirov were both big punchers. but ouma and wright both have chins too. there were some great fights in the early/mid 2000s. thats basically what im getting at with this thread. there are always exciting times in boxing! Toney-jirov is one of my all-time favorite fights...A past prime former p4p fighter a decade after his best form showing he had a great fight left to win a world title at a much higher weight than his prime...I was jumping out my seat in the 12th round...chills dude. As far as Ouma I always wanted he and Wright to fight but their probably a great fight from a money standpoint. Fans make the best match makers....we would have been talking about that fight for years...Sure he beat Mosley but Imo if Winky beat Ouma it would have left no doubt he was the best at 154

great story, alot of heart...he didnt have the best tool set but used what he had to become one of the best junior middleweights of his era. Ouma took a beating like no man should. I don't even know if it's heart or if he's missing some nerve endings that allow him to feel pain. It's not human.
