Yep another thread on British boxers...
Was just thinking, could the loyalty of British fans be a reason why our fighters are hyped to the hill and back?
Chisora is a great example, most of us don't like the guy and he loses against the best but we'll still back him and say he can win against some decent boxers!
I don't see many other countries (maybe with exception of Mexico) that will back some of their B and C list countries no matter what.
This leads me to a question, is the overhyping a good or bad thing?
Personally I think its good for boxing as the B/C list boxers fight in front of decent sized audiences against USA for example where unless you are an A list star like Mayweather / Broner you'll find it hard to sell out an arena.

I think it's bad.
I'm British and honestly just laugh at people who blindly hype up anyone who waves our flag. It's what made Thompson vs Price so funny, the odds were in favor of Price just because our country often has too much pride in our own fighters to think objectively.
The only positive is we have the loudest and most passionate fans in the world, and we really make stadiums tremble with chants, in my opinion.
