Why are people still talking about Manny-Floyd?

Right now it is not even realistic nor what Floyd get any credit for this fight...If he wins against Canelo he will be the lineal champion at 147 and at 154..Manny will have no titles,hasn't even faced a top ww since 2009 and his next fight is against a guy with 0 fights at ww and who was 1-1 at 140.So why are people still crying for this fight? One fighter is with HBO and one is with Showtime not to mention Bob Arum is still around. Manny is not even a top fighter right now and beating Rios will prove nothing seriously nothing. Rios is a walking punching bag who was picked because he is no threat to Manny. It's still the most lucrative fight in boxing today, people want to see it.

Out of all the tough guys at 154, it's weird when the standing champs are Ishe Smith, Mayweather and Canelo. Mayweather has only fought twice in the division in the last 6 years. Canelo has only fought 1 real guy at 154; maybe 2 if you count that British guy years ago........ Ishe Smith :dunno: The real fighters in the division are Angulo, Kirkland (despite inactivity due to legal trouble), Lara, Molina (hate his guts), etc... If Mayweather is the Lineal champ, it would be the best lineal championship ever purchased. That's just how it is. Molina is the best name on the list and that's not saying much... Lara is over rated... Almost got stopped by El Perro who lost to Cintron and Kirkland, yet he's suppose to be better than Trout??? Please. Molina has talent. He clinches too much though... Trout vs Molina for a Canelo match is better than Lara vs Trout, but I understand Molina's clinch fest style doesn't put fans in seats, so were getting Lara vs Trout, or at least I think we are...

When Floyd beat canelo he was widely reagrded as the #1 fighter in the division. And when Canelo beat trout, the same was true, he was regarded as the next best fighter in the division. When those two fight, it will absolutely be for the lineal crown whether u like it or not. Ur saying a small minority are saying it, well that's not true. This fight will produce the lineal champ.

If Garcia is the lineal champ for beating Khan, then so is Peterson, which makes Mathysse the uncrowned lineal champ Peterson and Matthysee didnt fight at 140

If Floyd beats Canelo he will NOT be the Lineal champ of anything. Canelo needs to do more than just beat Trout to be considered any kind of lineal opponent. There are so many fighters at 154 waiting for Floyd. He won't be Lineal anything in that weight class any time soon. Canelo is the champ at 154..and Floyd is #1..how in the hell would this not be for the lineal title?

Trout wasn't even the man at 154. There were several guys better than Trout at that moment. Hell, I didn't even think Trout would beat Cotto coming off a loss. Don't get me wrong, Trout was a good win, but there was absolutely nothing ground breaking about it.......NOTHING. Like I said, I'm not even sure Trout can beat Molina, Kirkland, Lara, Angulo or even Andrade. It was a good win for Canelo, and a MUCH needed step up in competition, but when you start talking "lineal", I can't take it seriously He will be lineal. I don't even think anyone out there disputes this.

Because they are still the top biggest draws in the sport. If they fight all eyes would be on boxing.
