Why isn't ESPN more serious about boxing?

ESPN is probaby worth more than HBO, SHO/CBS (boxing budget), and NBC (boxing budget) combined. Yet they only seem interested in showing C+ bouts, with an occasional veteran looking to get back in the mix. The most interesting part of ESPN telecasts to me has always been the interviews and studio talk. There they bring in the elite fighters to discuss their upcoming PPV bouts. They may have an interesting fighter sitting in the studio. Its always interesting to listen to Atlas predict winners. The actual matches though, feel like an extention of the commercial break :)! I've never felt the urgency to watch or DVR the show like I do HBO, NBC, and SHO/CBS. I'd even put SHOWBOX ahead of FNF! I often miss several weaks, unless I get word of something interesting. I knew Fonfara because he had beaten Glen Johnson last year (I only bothered with that show because of Johnson), and Campillo from getting robbed against Cloud, and getting knocked out by Kovolev. That garnered enough interest to see the show. The heavyweight bout was good because the Chicago guy had TOO much heart for his own good :D...knocked out again, LOL. He was correct to complain about the ref from the first fight doing the rematch. The ref seemed like he was in a bad mood. But thats the first time I've seen the commission listen to the fighter and switch the refs. Is it just about, well, we're this monolithic sports network and this is just a fringe sport, throw a couple crumbs to that budget? These guys could have the top 10 on their show with one checking account transaction :)!
