I think it is Canelo's team, i think they just wanted to make it fair since Floyd wanted Canelo to come down to 147.
Floyd and Haymon are responsible for 152. I'm sure they told Canelo you can have $x at 154 and $y at 152. SInce y >>>>>>>>>>>>>>x, Canelo agreed to 152
He made the weight last fight , , it only took a big glass of water 4 hrs before the weighing to be officially 153 .
He 153.5 to be accurate. Listen I'm happy the fights happening but CW's are BS.
With regards to 1 or 2 pounds, it can make a hell of a difference, here's Leonard Ellerbes take on it with regards to the Cotto Pac fight:
"He was a dead man walking when he went into the ring," Ellerbe said. "The casual fan doesn't know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight. Fighters know."

Of course Canelo wanted the CW. He wanted the best chance possible.
He's fighting the best fighter in the world, why not fight at a weight that he's not made for 5 years?

I was there. You should have seen it, Floyd is like, "Canelo, I can't fight you below 154. I am a defender of fairness in this sport, and I would never ever fight at a catchweight."
Then Alvarez said, "Please? You have to let me fight at 150. I said I would, and I meant it. I don't want to fight at 154." He spent like thirty minutes crying about it, literally crying.
Finally Money's like, "Okay. I'll be the hero this sport deserves and take the punishment and criticism. Because I'm the Batman."
Not sure how it's Canelo fault. The catch weight exists only to favor a certain fighter in this bout. Canelo is a very big 154lb fighter who would rather fight at a catch weight of 156 or even 158. Clearly this is for a 154lb title. Floyd who is shifting from 147 to 154 can only make it between those weight classes. The only advantage Canelo gets is the opportunity to fight mayweather.
It's obvious guys stop trying to delude yourselves.

Why blame the guy that was dragged down:
"Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez: Floyd Mayweather must face me at 154 pounds, I can't go lower"

and the very next day the fight was signed
I guess he thinks he needs every advantage he can get, even if it makes him a laughing stock
Laughing stock to a bunch of kid losers lol , look at the media around this fight , its the biggest fight for years and I don't see them laughing , you kids crk me up lol .
You ever played chess , what do you owe the other player , just like that Floyd owes Canelo nothing and is giving away a lot in size , why not squeeze him , Canelo wants to big note and call him out at 150 so Floyd is supposed just forget about it , mate you got no brains and never played to win lol , Manny has been playing to win for years and you don't say boo and he never give any opponents a smell of his negotiating turd , it was his way or NO fight , Floyd takes a guy up on his big mouth and negotiates a deal , then he is the devil and Manny a saint , you guys are pathetic , you cant hate on Floyd and praise Manny and then have the gall to cry hypocrite .

You can say w/e you want. I know who I am. Not going to argue over the internet with someone who is half retarded. I mean your argument is so silly but you can go ahead and believe that you pulled one out the sleeve. Btw Canelo states "I NEVER wanted a CW".
Canelo used to fight at 147, maybe Floyd should have insisted on that? I mean, Canelo pretty much cornered himself with that, right?
Hey must be 95%+ of us idiots here, naively thinking that offers from 2011 are worthless anymore, especially when physically impossible. Even if the guy hadn't grown, despite all common sense, you can't blame him for withdrawing it since in the mean time Floyd won a title at 154, bragged about giving his opponent 154 and not using CWs, and held on to the belt for 1yr+. I guess Canelo should have known Floyd's words are worthless.
So you don't like CW title fights? Then how do you like CW title unifications, with lineal belt at stake?
If you wanna make the case that Floyd just went along with Canelo's offer, you can't use an offer from 2011. This shouldn't need explanation, even for you. Double so when the guy was 21 when he made it, and can't physically make the same weight as then.

So you're going with the 2011 offer? Figures. I still don't get the neutrality pretense, it really doesn't get more obvious.

Are really this stupid? If someone says on camera or in a interview that they will fight someone at a CW and then the fight comes about then suddenly they say "I never asked for a CW". What does that mean? Floyd is a hypocrite of this same thing with Cotto. In 2011 when Sergio Martinez said he was willing to fight Floyd or Manny at a CW of 150, Canelo on multiple occasions said he was willing to go down to 150 to fight Floyd Mayweather. But now you only want to hold Floyd's feet to the fire but not Canelo's too? Both were said in the same year.

Says you it wont do lol , it wouldn't do for Manny on a number of occasions he just walks when he don't get what he wants , Floyd negotiates and makes the fight .

Ok I'll humor you. Can you find any links from this year, with Canelo offering a CW? 2011 simply will not do.
