I would say the three hardest hitting boxers pound for pound are:
Gennady Golovkin
Lucas matthysse
And my third is controversial as he hasn't faced anyone of note but with a record of 28 fights with 28 knockouts deontay wilder has to be up there with matthysse and triple G.
I would say Wlad hits harder than Wilder. There is no doubt in my mind that Wlad would ko every fighter that Wilder has KOed and do it quicker and easier with fewer punches. Stevenson and the Russian light heavyweight that is fighting Cleverly are very hard punchers. GGG and Matthysse belong at the top I think.
1. Matthysse
2. Golovkin
3. Stevenson
I know Pacquiao hasn't KO'd anyone in awhile but his KO of Hatton was bone shattering. He still hits hard but not like he did in that and even the Cotto fight.
Lol Wilder? no
Bailey, Uchiyama, Donaire, Mikey, Golovkin, Lucas
wilder has insane power. compared to men in his weight class it is still remarkable. he doesn't have the punching pedirgree of golovkin, matthysse, and especially donaire, but going by the eye / smell test he looks like a huge hitter. when he hits guys flush they go down.
just a crude slugger at this stage, doe.
WTF did Donaire retire or something? He should be the first guy on every list
agree.
the 118-122 lbers with bonafide one punch power in can be counted on one or two hands.
Wilder has a strong right hand but he is matched very carefully against most of his opponents who have been stopped before and they do this so you think he must be a murderous puncher if he has all of those ko wins.
Wilder is just part of a huge HW resurgence of explosive HW's !!!
ggg, lucas and wlad
Too hard to do just 3 as boxing is extremely rich right now in power punchers.
1 GGG
2 Vlad
3 Stevenson
4 Matthyse
5 Wilder
It's close because I have 7 other dudes who have 1 punch KO power too.
