Broner is way too sharp and Marcos, whom I am a fan of, was getting badly outboxed at certain points by joseito lopez of all people.
maidana will look terrible against a sharp, accurate puncher like AB just like he did with Devon Alexander. But this time AB has more offense and power and will get him out there by round 9.
Maidanas problem in that fight was simply that he's not a good infighter. He's a good mid range but if u get in on him and smother his offense and clinch him, he doesn't seem to know what to do. I dunno if he could ever beat Alexander. Alexander fought the perfect fight that night.
It's not that Alexander fought so intelligently, it's that Chino fought so damn stupid. When you get clinched over 100 times in a fight, you know you did something wrong. Chino came in with the wrong game-plan and didn't adjust, he underestimated Devon's strength and thought he would plow through him. It also didn't help that Smoger didn't take action on all the clinching. That was Chino's worse performance, and I can't see how he doesn't improve from it cuz it was that bad.

But Alexander was a too special fight. It was the first Chino fight at 147, plus it took place in Alexander's backyard, plus Chino had just changed trainer (Rudy Pérez) and, just having started his process for acquiring new skills, Rudy fell sick and was not even in his corner. The next time would be different.
Getting clinched to death surely didn't help matters. I think Maidana would fight Alexander a bit smarter next time.

Probably, who cares though? Maidana was outclassed by Alexander. Devon Alexander. Nuff said.

It's not about comparing floyd to broner. Its that I see the similarities in the fights.
The augustus fight was far tougher than people assumed it would be. The corrales fight was far superior than most thought, in part because floyd didn't meet expectations in the augustus fight.
Same thing here. Broner failed to meet my and many posters expectations in the paulie fight. But this is NSB-where posters have the mind numbing mentality that winning a tougher than thought fight (broner/paulie or tim/provodnikov recent examples ) somehow lessens a fighter.
Too much focus on NSB is on Broner not doing what posters expected rather than just assessing his overall performance.
Two problems. Bradleys stock rose in the prov fight and Broner's fell. And in order for Broner to do as you say, he needs to dance between the rain drops instead of trying to be an umbrella all the time.
Plain spoken, if he doesn't employ some movement, which I really doubt he will, against someone on a streak like Maidana, he is like a guy with an umbrella in a hail storm... Eventually that thing gonna get torn to shreds....
And my point was Morales wasn't as shot as you say and a better win than PDL. Chop Chop is a guy you have to be prepared for. Its easy to underestimate a guy that seems to have almost as many losses as wins. But the fact still remains that once upon a time, floyd himself said the hardest he was ever hit was by Chop Chop. Mags is relevent because you were debating Morales's worth within that time frame so I began discussing how he did against common opponent Cano. This is all pretty easy stuff to follow. Are you being intentionally obtuse?
I was ribbing you when I said that abouut PDL, try to keep up
Lmao. Ur a funny guy. U have a lotta spin on your triangle theoried arguments. But if sit and start making excuses for why Maidana looked bad against this person or that person, then it's quite easy to do it for any fighter. And them u proceed to call pdl a fringe comtender, but that was just ribbing me? Quite convenient. Lol. U still wanna stick to your story morales wasn't shot ehh? Well I'm not gonna waste my time arguing other wise. Morales wasn't shot and chop chop was dangerous and got underestimated. Lol. Gotcha. Keep on making excuses for the guy. I guess that's what fans do.

Boxers lose fights, doesn't mean they are a bum and can't beat another fighter.

Other than quitting to Bradley.. What's so bad about Alexander? As far as skills go he's up there with the top 5-10 percent
Dude, ur losing the plot. See why triangle theories are bad? The Point of this convo is to note how bad Maidana struggled with chop chop and morales, both of whom were shot. U were arguing they weren't and that they were somehow better wins than ponce, who u called a fringe contender. Stick to the plot. U are confusing yourself. Malignaggi has nothing to do with this conversation. He was bought in by way of your triangle theory. It means nothing. Finally, I've never gave chop chop credit. The point is very very hard to be ill prepared for a guy who hasn't had a decent win I over 5 years. But somehow Maidana pulled it off. Lol. Don't confuse yourself. Please.

The reason I think Maidana has a shot in this fight is because Broner likes to exchange and he'll take risks. He doesn't give you a lot of angles and a lot of times fights in straight lines. After watching how he performed against Malignaggi, I wouldn't bet the house on Broner (and Maidana IMO has looked better under Garcia).
Your turn for triangle theories I see. Well then, what about how Cano was robbed against Mags and Mags made broner look average?
And Broner never looked as good against solid, not grossly outsized, competition like Maidana has in his last couple fights. What's your point?
Giving Chop Chop credit now are we? Checkmate

Only problem with that is.... Broner aint Floyd, no matter how hard he tries

Eric morales won a title against Pablo Cesar cano. Does that mean he's not shot? How so? Shane Mosley just knocked out that very same cano. Does that mean hes not shot?

I'm tired of hearing your excuses for maidana's performances. An excuse is an excuse. This is boxing. Broner can have plenty of excuses for his bad performances as well, but at the end of the day, he's never looked as bad as Maidana did against chop chop.

And if ur Ill prepared for a chop chop fight, theN to me, that says a whole lot about u.

I think the paulie fight has taken away some of Broner's shine but I share the opinion that he will look much better against Maidana.
If Broner and Maidana fight, There is a very good chance it will be like floyd having a tough go with augustus and then the next fight dominating Corrales in a showcase performance.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. People are so fond of saying maidana is "fringe" and saying erik was shot when he fought Maidana despite moving on from that fight to win a title and give danny garcia a competetive fight.
Yeah, he was. Morales that fought Garcia the 2nd time had nothing left after the ped scare, but he had a lil somethin somethin before that, which is more than enough, considering his pedigree, to put him over someone like PDL.
And the fact of the matter is Maidana was ill prepared for the chop chop fight. It happens... You are naïve if you think Maidana won't be in the shape of his life against Broner. This is his shot at the Mayweather sweepstakes.

Wowser...What next? a desperately unfunny 'you mad' style comment? Thats normally par for the course with you worldstar types.:lol1:
Oh, I'm a world star type now? Lol. Keep the stereotypes coming. Keep beggin for my attention. Keep trying to be clever. Keep trying to escape from your crap life by being a funny guy on the Internet. I get it, I really do. But if u have nothing of substance to say pertaining to the thread, stop wasting my time.
