Anybody else think these two are extremely similar fighters? They both have an all action style with dynamic offensive skills. But they both also have
really leaky defense. They both also happen to be Mexican-Americans from Texas.
Figueroa looks to be a better puncher but its hard to say until he steps up in competition.
But i think just based on styles, his career trajectory will look similar to Diaz's in a few years.
Only similarities are they both mexican, both lightweights,,
Omar is way more crude than diaz was,,, but he also hits harder than diaz did,,,,
Diaz had a really good career, but like most pressure fighters, he burnt out fast,,,
I doubt that Omar achieves the success that diaz did,, diaz did have alot of quality wins vs top guys like frietas
not really. diaz wasn't crude like figueroa, he was just aggressive.
figueroa is a slugger who fights in spots, and diaz was a steady as a rock pressure fighter.
diaz also couldn't break a grape, and figueroa is home run puncher.

it's funny that you say that because Oscar DE la hoya says he plans too match them against each other after Diaz gets another fight or two under his belt after the long layoff he just had. Oscar says the fight will take place in Houston
