DAVID HAYE will be looking to cut gypsy giant Tyson Fury down to size on September 28 – but he once considered promoting him. Haye considered signing his rival Fury when looking to promote new young fighters
The two British heavyweights get it on at Manchester Arena to decide who proceeds towards a shot at one of the four world titles currently held by the Ukrainian brothers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.
But 6ft 9ins Fury, 25, could have been working for Haye instead of trying to knock his block off.
Londoner Haye, 32, pondered the possibility of guiding his Manchester rival’s career – only to be turned off the idea after watching Fury fight in 2009.
Victory would put The Hayemaker back in world title contention two years after he blamed an injured little toe for his points loss to Wladimir.
Fury – unbeaten in 21 fights – is three stone heavier and six inches taller than Haye. But the ex-WBA world heavyweight champion insists fighting him will not be as hard as taking on Klitschko or 7ft 2ins Russian Nikolai Valuev.

Yes, Wach has a good chin. But that's really all he's got. He's not a big puncher by any means, has a poor jab, poor footwork and his skills are average. His best win is a fat and old Kevin McBride who in his prime was nothing special.
If Fury worked the body, he'd probably stop Wach.
Then if what Haye says is true his beating Fury it won't be a meaningful win.
So it shouldn't get him a title shot.
I don't even like Haye, but if Vitali or Wlad were fighting Fury, you'd hype it. I still think Fury isn't very good, he's good for today's heavyweight standards, but that's it.
If you look at Tyson's two knockdowns, he was caught when having his hands down more or less. He was caught flush straight on the chin. And he got up quickly on both occasions and didn't seem to be hurt.
I'm not saying Wlad has a weak chin, because I don't think he has. I don't think he has a Vitali/McCall esque chin, but he has taken some good punches in his day. So I'll give him that.
But anyone who get's hit flush in the face by a heavyweight could go down. Even the shot Haye hit Wlad with in the 3rd rounds of their fight wasn't flush because Wlad knows how to move out quickly.
And I agree that the Brewster KD especially looked like it was due to being exhausted. Which can happen to any fighter. But look at the Sam Peter KDs for example.. even though two of them weren't "real" KDs as per se, he still hit the deck.
I agree with 2008 version of Thompson probably, but not the current version. He's not as fit as he used to be, and you need to be fit to fight Fury because he's so damn big.
Flash KDs are actually better merit of a chin than those that happen because of lost balance or low stamina IMO.
I don't have enough proof that Fury has a bad chin, but being put by cunningham, pajkic and being hurt by chisorra - none of those is a puncher is some indication of it. Fury has a big heart and that's why he recovered and won those fights apart from he was a better/bigger guy there.
And I agree everybody can go down - no doubt about that.
When you look at the KDs that Wlad suffered many of those were due to lost balance - especially in Peter's fight. That doesn't tell much about a chin.
look at how briggs almost put lennox down in 1st round of their fight (ropes helped lennox there). It was more due to Lennox loosing the balance not being badly hurt.
Brewster fight reminds me on second price-tt fight. It was something very strange about Wlad in that fight. He wasn't going down due to some heavy punches, or at least not the punches he couldn't take, but he was totally exhausted. He actually gone down by just walking to the corner - without any punches.
So I don't really look those just as formal KDs but how they happened. Also lets not forget that Wlad took Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Wach, TT clean punches without going down or being badly hurt. All of those are heavy punchers.
Now as for Fury, unfortunately there is no too many fights to say, but how Pajkic put him down with a single punch and how small CW put him down make me think that he doesn't have a specially good chin. In my mind, there is no way he would survive the punch that Wlad took from Haye.
It's bit of too obvious, but there is no department in which Fury matches Wlad apart in his physical size.
I am not saying that Wach is good, but he would definitely ask some questions. Unbelievable chin he has and decent power might be all what you need against Tyson - I still don't know.
I have no doubt that 2008 TT beats present Fury - no doubt at all. Today's versions more competitive but I would still favor TT. I really think people are underestimating big, skillful, powerful southpaw and maybe are slightly overestimating Fury.
Maybe Tyson will prove me wrong and go beat Haye... but atm this is my honest opinion.

I am a huge fan of Price as you know, but time showed us that he had no business in there with Thompson. I think Fury is a much more complete fighter than Price at the moment and would rather easily beat Thompson. That's just the feeling I have.

With regards to Fury's chin. What makes you say that he has a worse chin than Wlad? As far as I remember Wlad was put down vs Pannell, Williamson, Purrity and Brewster - Neither, aside from Purrity maybe are specifically big punchers. Add to that, been down 3 times vs Sanders and Peter respectively.
What Wlad does have though, is a helluva lot better defense than Fury. A good chin is nothing to be proud of, it just says you have a crap defense. But Fury has a solid chin.

Honestly I am not sure about that. I am saying this without any agenda. Noone gave TT much of a chance of beating Price but he did - twice.
I think he would give Tyson all what he can take.
As for Wach, he has one monster chin and Tyson is not taking him down that's for sure. Can tyson hang in there as he did against Johnoson, when there is a fighter who is not worried about his power at all and who can punch... well... I don't know. Tyson's chin is worse than Wlad's and his power is nowhere near Wlad's. So the question is can he outbox him and not go down... not sure.

Let's be honest here, Fury would win a wide decision over Thompson and probably will after Haye no matter how both of their fights go.
Wach.. No. Just no. He's as bad as they come.

To be fair, at least he's honest about the level of his opponent unlike Wlad who tried to compare Jean Marc Mormeck to Mike Tyson :lol1:
Because Heavyweight boxing is and will always be, the real deal.
Even an average heavyweight would KO all the malnourished manlets that run around in the lower divisions inside a round or two.
Manlets.
lol.
It is true really. It holds more interest to the casual boxing fan than any other.
If a heavyweight championship of the world title fight was shown on terrestrial/network T.V mostly everyone would watch it.
I remember when Lennox got sparked on the BBC at 5 a.m in South Africa pretty much everyone watched it!
Not sure about that. Thompson would have a real chance of beating him, Wach on PEDs would be a serious test too.. Both are way better HW than Cunningham.

Idk why anyone would watch the HW division, it's the worst in boxing.

I can only laugh at the people who are now b!tching about Haye. He's right. Fury isn't that good and has barely stepped out of the domestic scene (beaten a CW and a fat old Kevin Johnson is nothing).
But what makes this worse, is that Wlad offered Fury a fight before those wins. Fury would still spank each of Wlad's last four opponents and is at least ranked in the top 10 by pretty much every body.

Haye is Wlad's bitch, and he was scared of Vit until he got old
Fury isn't impressive, but if he got a Wlad shot, he'd actually try
still picking Haye to win, but rooting for Fury all the way
Haye's another one of these boxing bitches who needs to go away
I don't know if you have ever noticed it but Wlad was right : he gave Haye a reality treatment at such a point that Haye imitates him with the things he is used to do : no trash talking, have nice clothes at the first presser, interviews that are becoming more similar to Wlad's ones. All his efforts done to change his image may affect his personality in the ring.

Fury plays the fool but he’s not stupid. He knows this could be a Dempsey vs Willard repeat and will look to prevent that by stifling Haye, stomping forward with hands high, targeting all David’s toes with his size 20s and then grabbing and leaning on the inside while throwing in as much skulduggery as he can get away with. He got away with plenty against Cunningham where the whole finishing sequence, except for the right hander itself, was outside the rules. Aside from all that, Fury has a big heart. He won’t quit. To win, Haye will probably have to beat the sh*t out of him.
Haye himself is just a domestic Heavyweight - who as world champ would give Audley a shot - go away David, why did you come out of retiirement or is your little toe now healed.
