Word is that HBO and Andre Ward are far apart in terms of who they are willing to accept in terms of his opponent for his next fight #boxing
klitschko's are 2 different people. 2 people dominating the rest of the division. isn't that the problem? each guy only fighting half the contenders and the half that suits them. the ottke-calzaghe duo of nowadays.
how is it a close fight if one guy can't hit the other guy? :chairshot
froch's in a much tougher division than calzaghe ever was. and his era sucked balls. lacy and kessler? lol
Well we were talking about the klit bros, not individuals.. so thats your problem in not knowing what the debate was about...
Hopkins didnt land anything of note on joe except for the 1st round knockdown.. pretty much was a carbon copy of taylor-hopkins,, hopkins not doing anything but defense, other guy pressing the fight,, 114-113 for joe..
Kessler and lacy,,, yet kessler beat froch and was odds on favorite to win super 6 at the beginning,, prime joe would beat everyone at 168 now except for ward... hell he already beat kessler in a wide decision and bika in a close but clear victory...
once again how can a guy be a legit lineal division champ in 2 weight classes...... most guys cant even do it in 1...
And name the guy that beat Joe....
Sven Ottke was never a lineal champ
Well then they are just haters......
K bros have beaten everybody over a decade period..... Name a fighter they dodged.... our one they didnt dominant....
If you think hopkins got robbed you are retard... close fight but not a robbery,,
once again, i dont understand how you can be 2 lineal championships in 2 different divisions and be considered a bum. Froch will never be 1 lineal championship and his biggest rivalry is to kessler-who got outboxed by Joe easily,,, You ever hear anybody say they wanted kessler-calzaghe 2... And dont say kessler was green, dude was like 44-0 with 2 belts.. Not saying Joe is the GOAT but def one of the greats of his era....

Stevenson offered to fight Ward at 168 and then a return at 175. Stevenson has only just moved up so I guess he believes he can make 168.
On Bute, I'm not sure if he can get back down. Kessler II is still a good fight imo, first fight refereeing was controversial.
Just to note, I agree with the other names you listed except Anthony Dirrell since I don't think he's shown much to warrant a shot.
Stevenson is lineal lhw champ so i doubt he moves down unless he loses title, and if he loses he would be out of the running for a ward fight...
Kessler 2 would have been good a few years ago, but i just think kessler is done,, he is slowing down....
ANthony dirrel your right, doesnt deserve a shot, but i think he would be a perfect comeback tuneup for ward,, he is undefeated has alittle name value and it would setup a ward-andre dirrell fight later which i think is very appealing....
For the same reasons people hate the k bros's he fought a bunch bums and arguably lost to Hopkins and fought a shot to **** jones and his fans make this big claim like he's the goat

I find it odd Ward had no problem fighting someone like Kelly Pavlik but since Pavlik retired he's been crying like a baby begging for scraps trying to fight nobodies. This guys is throwing his career down the drain.
Weebler i agree about stevenson and bute if he can beat pascal.... but those fights will be at 175.. not 168
I gotta disagree with kessler 2... Kessler is done at the top level,, Ward would massacre him... only reason i would get hyped to see it, is if kessler beat froch in a rubber match

I know this isnt a calzaghe thread but froch could barely get past an old kessler, lost to kessler, Joe dominated the kessler fight after 4 rounds,,, I dont remember anyone clamoring for a rematch between joe and mikkel....
also Joe was a 2 division lineal champion,, Something froch will never do....
i dont know how guys can hate on a guy that has 2 lineal championships..

Only fights that interest me at 168 for ward would be
dirrell brothers
GGG
froch 2
chavez jr
pavlik as tuneup
maybe steigletz
Lucian Bute
Mikkel Kessler II
Adonis Stevenson
what the **** is with HBO lately? they been showing GGG fight bums and putting a prospect on main card but turning down best fighters in sport
HBO have mostly only shown Golovkin against top 10 opposition...#9 Proksa and #6 Macklin. They showed Rosado too but he was the only one who would step up.
Floyd fought belt holders at welterweight,Paul Williams at the time was pretty much just a prospect so he didn`t count,And before Floyd beat Hatton at welter ,he beat Baldomir who was undisputed champ and Cotto-who ducked Floyd at 140-wasn`t fighting at 147 when Floyd fought the undisputed champ Baldomir.Margarito and Baldamir had the same style but Baldomir was way more deserving cause he beat top opposition in Judah. So with Floyd beating Baldomir who was really undisputed champ, and Floyd beating Judah who was a ibf belt holder,Floyd came close to cleaning out 147 back in 2006.
And i said Hopkins is the only boxer that i know of who was the last guy to clean out a division. With Floyd i insinuated that a person could pose the argument that he cleaned out a division or came close to cleaning out a division.
enter the mind of a mad man
HBO dont give a damn about American boxers
More like they don't give a damn about boring fighters, which is not always the case though. They still give Ward and Dawson TV dates.

Beating Baldimor and Judah is cleaning out the WW division? :lol1:
More post = more fail. Just stop
no, just no. he ducked every legit welterweight of that era. judah coming off a loss? please. hatton had returned to 140 and was replaced by contenders williams and cotto by the time floyd fought him. margarito was number one for years and even after losing to a beast came back and was #1 again. floyd never fought him. verdict=not clean, dirty dirty ducker

I said Floyd arguably cleaned out welterweight or came close to cleaning out Welterweight. And i was talking about back then.Pac juice,Cotto and Mosley wasn`t fighting at welterweight when Floyd fought Baldomir who was the undisputed champ.Mosley was at Junior middleweight when Floyd fought Baldomir and Judah. And Floyd called Mosley out but Mosley didn`t want a piece of Floyd at that time. When Floyd first jumped to Welterweight,Cotto was still a junior welterweight and Cotto and Hatton did not want a piece of Floyd at Junior Welterweight. And Floyd called both of them out after he destroyed Arturo Gatti. And when Floyd fought Baldomir Cotto wasn`t fighting at Welterweight yet and Baldomir had already won all three major titles from Zab Judah. But he gave 2 of them up cause he couldn`t afford the sanctioning fee.So after Floyd beat Baldomir,Floyd was arguably the undisputed champ and pretty much came close to cleaning out welterweight. He didn`t fight Margarito`s but Margarito`s belt wasn`t a major title.
Also Floyd called out the winner of Cassamayor and Freitas and neither of them wanted a piece of Floyd. Not Floyd`s fault,Floyd can`t force anybody to fight him.
You make good points, floyd was dodged alot pre-oscar fight... Im just busting your balls for saying that floyd cleaned out welter when he didnt.....
Ward got paid 1.4 mil to fight Dawson. He demands a lot of money and HBO seem like they wont give him that kinda money for some tune up
This is the thing I don't get about Ward.
Sure he is a great boxer, but if you want the big money you've got to actually attract customers to buy the PPV which is something he seems incapable of doing.
OMG
You are gonna hear it from some posters,, Ward won the super 6 but hasnt cleaned out the division, yet you say that floyd cleaned out welter... mosely, manny, cotto, margs, williams, clottey,
SMH
For all of floyds greatness he has never cleaned out a division ever,,, 130 came close but never fought casamoyer or frietas
