That's when things get interesting IMO.
Kovalev a fast starter, but has never been dragged to the deep end of a 12 round fight.
Cleverly at home and late round experience could work to his favor.
Kovalev's only bee past six twice and I thought he looked weary in his KO of Roman... even though he killed him.
Haven't seen the Boone fight, but that was his 10th pro fight
Thoughts?
I think this will be fight of the year - both guys stepping up in class and both guys with a very high punch output.
Kovalev already beat a better fighter than Cleverly in Campillo
Cleverly can definitely win this fight. It's not outbid reach.
Kovalev is a good fighter with legit KO power but he is limited.
This fight will show is what Cleverly is made of.
Cleverly is the better and more skillful boxer. Sure kovalev has the power to take him out, but if he doesn't get Nathan out of there in the first half I can see Cleverly outboxing him to a pretty clear UD
It's possible, he looks to have gotten better, though hard to tell with the cupcakes he's been facing. Last time he didn't face one was Bellew (not a great boxer), and he had trouble outboxing him.

I hope that Kovalev doesn't gas out, but we just don't know how deep his gas tank is yet.
True, we've seen him just blast people. He looked pretty tired in the 7th against Roman... although Roman was a hot mess by then.
That's what I've been saying. When Kovalev fails to get an early night he will be in big trouble. I really like Cleverly. He's a tough guy and I think he's the better boxer. I have Cleverly as the winner in this fight by UD or late TKO.
KO though? Seems a little too.... much for Cleverly.
I could see a decision if Kovalev fails to get him out of there and then completely gasses.
I want to see if he goes hard for all 12... or even 8
