Golden Boy Is Changing The Game With This PPV

Regardless of how you feel about Golden Boy, we should all be happy after yesterday's announcement of Danny Garcia vs. Lucas Matthysse being added to the Mayweather/Canelo undercard. It raises the bar for PPV boxing. No more garbage and a name in the main event. We want big important fights top to bottom. It's on HBO and Top Rank to answer back now. It would be icing on the cake if maidana vs boner was also on the card.

This is not new, Don King used to do it. As a fan it's great, but might not be smart business, more of a desperation move after the Guerrero ppv flopped. Yes I agree with you he did. The present kids don't knwo anything about boxing history. I recall when I was a kid that there was a 3 or 4 title fight promotion, I can't recall by whom, but Sugar Ray Robinson was heading the bill. I remember in RING or Boxing Illustrated, there was a picture of Robinson's camp, with the fighters' names painted on a few large rocks at the entrance.

Its 1 card, relax PPV sucks anyway, why are people so happy about it?

Nothing HBO or Top Rank can do to top this event. Not for another 20-30 years, if at all.

Garcia isnt backing out. I would guess he'd probably fight injured if he had to. a win could mean a shot at floyd which is like winning the lotto.

Cards used to be this good-the days when Chavez fought on Tyson's undercards. or the 80's where 3-4 title fights were on a don king card. But this card should force HBO to elevate the cards it puts on, as will the mares/gonzalez santa cruz/terrazzas card in august IMO.

It's good and all but June, July and August have been slow for boxing. It's a matter of stacked cards or good fights on every weekend

People have to remember GBP and Showtime have to put on better fights since GBP got booted from the #1 network HBO. After the Floyd Guerrero flop they have no choice but to go ALL OUT with this PPV.
