When Rigondeaux Leaves Top Rank for Golden Boy, He will Make HBO and Arum look Stupid. No fighter should get punished for giving a boxing lesson. Max Kellerman is a big Rigondeaux supporter, he probably won't stand for it.
Just read the comments and the hate for Rigo is strong, since the cordoba fight he dont run anymore, at the end of the day it is up to Donaire and the other people that fight to make him fight a different way but as soon as they see the footwork, movement and feel the power they let him fight the way he wants to fight and just follow him about the ring so i dont see why people are blaming Rigo for being boring blame the other fighters for not wanting to go toe-to-toe and make it an exciting fight.
Precisely. I seem to recall Donaire chasing the much taller Mathebula all over the ring, jumping, at times, to reach the taller man. Nonito was throwing wild haymakers all over the place, looking for the KO. I wonder why he didn't try that with the much smaller Rigo? You and I know why. Donaire saw and felt what his fans could not. By the end of the fight, Nonito was reduced to running around the ring, desperately looking to avoid being KOed. And people claim "El Chacal" won't fight. lol
Yup. Against Cardoba, Rigo's corner told him to start sitting down on his punches and mix it up a little in the 6th round, and he ended up getting hit a lot and then dropped by a half extended jab.
After that, Rigo got back on his bicycle and literally ran the rest of the fight, barely squeeking out a split decision.
The fans booed excessively and the analysts ridiculed him for fighting with such a cowardly approach.
Even Max Kellerman was critical of Rigo, saying:
"It's one thing to move around to gain a strategic advantage, Rigondeaux is literally running"
You're right, and Kellerman's quote is the truth. The Cordoba fight was an embarrassing episode in Rigo's brief career. The second half of that "fight" was beyond dreadful. But that was only Guillermo's seventh professional fight. It's understandable that a man with hundreds of amateur fights would revert to what he knows when confronted with adversity for the first time.
Despite what anyone might say, Rigo has not behaved anything like the Cordoba fight ever since. In the biggest fight of his career, "El Chacal" engaged and exchanged in the middle of the ring against a P4P champion with a killer punch. He went on to chase that P4P champion in the twelfth round, as the man literally fled from Guillermo. That's a long way from Ricardo Cordoba.
I think you haven't read the report correctly. Rafael's cpmment was that Arum said that HBO don't want him. Arum also said that they pushed him "to match Rigondeauz with Donaire and now they turn their backs on the winner and that's wrong".
Arum is against the HBO policy as it clearly shows. All you conspiracy nuts are as nutty as a nut mountain. I'm posting to you but I really mean 'you all", and not in a "Southern Fried" way.
I seriously believe that I waste my time writing in to straighten out all your crap (collective). The site is full of crazies, loonies, nut-cases, conspiracy maniacs and incipient murderers. it seems that government cuts have closed most of the insane asylums in the country and turned the patients out onto the streets.
Do you cretins, half-wits and quarter-wits actually get enjoyment from your rambling incoherencies?? I know that "mental retardation" and "cognitive disabilities" are just euphemisms for what you poor souls really are, and I was brought up to be respectful and kind to you, but it would take a saint........ and I'm certainly not a saint and have no aspirations to be one.
Classic post, Edgar! :lol1: Still laughing over "quarter-wits," among other things. lmao
Exactly. The truth is, lot's of boxers could run from the opposition and potshot and get a boring decision.
Most fighters, however, understand that doing so hurts their stock and is actually worse than losing an exciting fight.
Rigondeaux has already said he doesn't care if the fans boo him. So, why should the fans give a **** about him or his career?
Anyone who's watched Rigondeaux closely enough knows why he runs so blatantly....
The man has a weak chin. Cordoba dropped him with a half extended jab for crying out loud.
Ring God didn't run from Donaire, he threw harder punches, more punches but Rigondeaux is the boring one?

F Schafer and Arum. They are both pieces of shit

Why would you even want a Donaire rematch if you're a Rigo fan? But then Donaire seems to be only money fight for a guy with a style not friendly to the casuals. Darchinyan could be an interesting fight for the Cuban, but then Vic already said he's not fighting Rigo. Who else is there for him at Top Rank for a main card?
I cant believe Rigo cant get a fight for being to good wtf is that about, since he schooled Toprank's next Pacquiao Arum has treated him like ****,i can only see Rigo fighting twice a year while he is still with Arum, he's that good he should be fighting 4 times a year.
Arum, HBO, the weather, what's the difference? And why does it matter? The guy is boring as hell.
It matters if HBO isn't saying anything that Arum is claiming they said. Arum does not = HBO.
Rigo is painful to watch on tv. All 35-40 of his fans will tell you about how good he is...he will get KTFO'd soon enough as that glass jaw will fail him. Rigo is a promoter's nightmare. He really is a good fighter with limited skills, little power, can't help promote himself, and is bad tv fighter.:boxing::boxing::boxing:

Take HBO Out of it, this is about Arum plain and simple.

You want him to fight like rios and out of his element just so a few beer drinkers will like him? This is his style to BOX guys, you can call it running all you want but every fighter can't fight like him lmao if you think they can. And weak chin thing, you realize Rigo is way smaller than the 122 guys. He was 124 vs cordoba and 128 vs donaire while these guys are 130+
The late Emanuel Steward said it best:
"He's an amatuer that still fights like an amatuer. He scores a few points and then runs for the decision".
That's a well recognized trainer talking, not me.

People pay for a fight to see actions and excitement. Truth hurts :bottle::bottle:

What about floyd?
Floyd promotes himself by being controversial. Lara and Rigo barely speak english. If you can't see that, then you have no weight in this discussion.
