Although it's unlikely it ever happens, who would you guys favor if Floyd fought GGG, presumably at 154 pounds. I think it's a really interesting fight that would come down to whether or not GGG could cut off the ring and if Floyd could take his power.
There's not one single person between 140-160 that's going to be a "Las Vegas Odds" favorite over Mayweather.
Golovkin's name isn't out there anywhere close to enough to suggest he should be favored over Mayweather. People would literally get a hard on at seeing Mayweather + odds and bank accounts would be emptied. Then when he decisions Golovkin, Vegas loses big.
Vegas isn't in the business of losing big.
Mayweather -250 or so. People still hammer it, because it's about as good as you're gonna get on Mayweather.
If Mayweather wins, they only pay out $100 for every $250 bet. If he loses, the money they pay out on Golovkin, is covered by the multitude of losing -250 bets they have on Mayweather.
They would NEVER take the risk of having Mayweather as the underdog. Not ever.
good post. I would think a lot of money would come in on ggg and make the line move.
At 154 GGG would be at 166lbs come bell time and Floyd would be at 153!!!
The biggest difference is that GGG brings power and Floyd has avoided that and high rate high volumn (Pacman) opponents for some time now!!
Slow walking (Cotto & Robert) opponents who are very predictable are more his speed!
I think Canelo can be interesting because he has good hand speed and he does retaliate quickly!!! I doubt his power is that much more than Floyds or Floyd would have passed on fighting him! Hand speed might get interesting!

I reckon at 160 GGG would be favored. At 154 Floyd would be a slight favorite like 2-1 or so, especially if he looks great against McAlvarez.
agree with this. although the money coming in on GGG would be VERY high so they might have to adjust accordingly.
Not a fair fight. Floyd too small GGG cracks his ribs. GGG's power is too much for 160 fighters.. imagine for a 147 fighter moving up.
And that's why I wouldn't be interested in this fight. Funny how people complain about mismatches unless the fighter they hate is the one who is overmatched.
I still think Alvarez is too much for Floyd and Floyd gets KO'd..we shall see
Nah Canelo isn't even a big puncher at 154.

Depends on the weight, at 147 then Mayweather all day against a zombie walking GGG, At 154 I would still have Mayweather over a drained GGG (Since he hasn't prove anything at that weight), at 160 I would have GGG all day by KO.
