Judging from what has happened to David Price was Khan right not to fight Prescott after he got knocked out?
I have no doubt khan would beat him now but getting back in straight after the first loss would have been risky and despite boxing fans saying otherwise I think he did the right thing, especially now you look at the David price situation.
Got to admire david price's courage but sometimes it's better to fix the flaws and improve your weaknesses than to avenge the loss. still think he's a good fighter but this double loss will haunt him for a long time.
Every time Prescott was in position to really pressure Khan into a rematch, he lost. I don't blame Khan one bit for never fighting a rematch and don't think for one second he ducked him.
Besides, it's not like Khan was fighting worse fighters than Prescott in the meantime. It's not a duck if you're fighting better fighters than someone who wants to fight you, especially if the guy you're "ducking" never wins the fights he needs to.
Quoted for truth. Ever since he upset a very green and overconfident Khan, Prescott has lost all his significant fights. He got his ears boxed off by the mighty Kevin Mitchell, and went life and death with Paul McCloskey, whom Khan toyed with. His best win since Khan was... Bayal Jargal maybe? Meanwhile, Khan fought six legitimate top 10 junior welters, and beat four of them.
When the winner is begging the loser for a rematch, you know something went wrong with his career...
Khan would have taken an immediate rematch. Frank Warren knew it was the wrong way to go though. He didn't even pick Prescott in the first place, it was Khan's new trainer Jorge Rubio who suggested him as an opponent. No surprise that he was instantly fired.
No surprise only because an Amir Khan loss, a boatload of excuses and a scapegoat always go hand in hand.
That was an embarrassing defeat, the kind one has to avenge. What about when Prescott was robbed against McCloskey, or when he gave a really good account of himself against Alvarado? It wasn't worth it to fight him then? That's been one of my major turn offs with Amir Khan, the fact that it was Prescott dying for the rematch when that should have been Khan.
Fighters lose embarrassingly in their careers sometimes. It happens. Khan went on to bigger and better things, and fought better fighters. Prescott has had his chances, and lost them all.

U mean was he right in ducking prescott until this day?
It was good for him because he went on to do better things. Lucky he got fed soft punchers for a while afterwards instead of rematching Prescott
Maidana, Judah, Peterson, Garcia...
Soft punchers?
His team made the right decision at the time. It's not exactly Khan's fault that Prescott has become completely irrelevant in the mean time.
Khan may have looked like he's avoiding a rematch. What's stupid is demanding a rematch against a guy you already beat. Does he want the rematch to resuscitate his crappy career by beating Khan again? Let's say he did beat Khan again and Khan made another come back while Prescott kept losing his fights again. What then? Demand a Khan fight again?

Boxing fans didn't "say otherwise". The problem with Khan-Prescott 2 was that when Khan was going well and pulling down large undeserved paydays, he wouldn't consider Prescott at all. Prescott was begging for a return fight for a few years and Khan just ignored him. I think that the "family pride" was offended because Prescott had the effrontery not only to beat him, but KO him in such a way that people who want a laugh can still switch on to the fight on Youtube. And of course...... they were afraid that the same thing might happen again. Which is why they fed him light hitting opponents or those who were far too slow to catch him.
They didn't know anything about being "timed".
Just my opinion.
Sorry Bolio I see you got in first, but it just shows that we are both pretty smart......
Khan not only did not fight Prescott again right away, he avoided him completely in spite of Prescott calling him out constantly for years. He should have rematched Prescott within 18 months or so from his loss to Prescott. He gave the impression that he or his team were afraid to risk that fight. If Khan had KOed Prescott in a return fight it would have been a good win for him. Khan has yet to rematch anyone that beat him or rematch Maidana who lost to him but almost KOed him.

The Prescott rematch could have been made and could have been huge had he not kept losing in damn near every fight after that.

Khan is ducking Prescott. Period.

He was smart not to rematch Prescott. Look at his career since, probably over achieved considering his glass chin.
I think Prescott would KO him again. Julio Diaz had Khan in a world of trouble, I'm still not sure how he won that fight.
Yeah Khan was right....
He went on to make millions and have huge fights, and is still relevant...
Maybe if prescott didnt lose a bunch since then a rematch would be in demand but the dude has lost everytime he has stepped up... Crawford just outclassed him...
Prescott should be thankful that he even has a win over khan because without it he would be a nobody.....
Tyson did just fine without rematching buster...
Hearns did just fine without rematching hagler
Duran did just fine without rematching hearns...
Yes i like it when guys rematch guys who have beaten them but its not a deal-breaker in my book... Could careless about prescott-khan 2

why would he beat him now? he was nearly ko'd multiple times by julio diaz. it was smart for his career not to rematch him because he made it to the top and made some good money while being made entirely out of glass. not bad.
