Let me know if I've missed any you want and I'll try get them up. Website ideas, suggestions, and additions always welcome :)
Was thinking of opening up BoxStat to anyone to input and verify data/results/etc... moderated in some way by the best users a bit like forums are. It'd be a little while to get it done, but if there's enough people into it I'd be happy to do it.
With everyone chipping in a small amount we could get some pretty decent punch stats and all sorts going. Thoughts?
If you want punch stats and the whole nine, you're almost going to have to put a team together. I found out real quick just how much work it takes to put something substantial together. It took a LOT of time to get to the point I was at, and I had two people doing it.
Gonna have to be people that really love stats, boxing, and working for free.
I'm down.:boxing:

Yeah punch stats are one for the future probably but just keeping it simple for now and doing all the half decent bouts. I'll see how the next few months go, but i would like to take it down that route and build more of a community around it to get the best stats... I'm not really up for spamming everyone with millions of ads, so really want to make it a decent place to go for info.
Meh, we'll see. ha

I worked for a few months on something a bit similar to this.
Using strength of opposition, adjusted accuracy for and against (based on a formula I came up with), adjusted power for and against (ditto), and several other factors, I came up with power rankings for fighters in each division. It was off to a really good start, predicting a competitive fight between Provodnikov and Bradley (which I ignored), and a Stiverne victory over Arreola (which I didn't ignore).
I've since gotten too busy to update it, and it's way behind where it should be. I've got it all in an excel spreadsheet on my laptop. I will try and dig it up sometime this weekend.
Interesting. I would like to take a look at your data. I am thinking of doing something similar.

This is intriguing stuff, thanks. I take it those weights are from official weigh-in...might be interesting to see an average of night-of weigh-ins...though I suppose they are always questionable in accuracy (clothes etc) and sometimes difficult to find, if they exist at all.
Yeah weights is a difficult one, and at the moment we don't give them too much value as they differ on the night so much with different fighters. On the night weights are too difficult to get hold of for each fighter, and as you say wouldn't be that accurate anyway in most cases. :)
Only thing is this part in the Notes for Tony: "Never fought opponent with this much power (ignoring any weight differences)"
He fought Vlad 2X tho
I can't say I know my heavyweights as well as i know other weights to argue the case either way. That value doesn't take into account 'past opponents punch resistance' though, and maybe it should, so this may be where the value is a little wrong (if it is).
Vlad is second on the list after Price with the current calculations for power, but I'll take a look at some others and see if and where it's incorrect, and change it if needed.
Opponent data is also less accurate than the fighter's fully verified page too due to the time it'd take to load a page otherwise. It doesn't take into account Vlads opponents opponents on that page. I'm working on this but its a bit of a difficult one to make happen.
I'll get Vlads stats on their in the next few days and see how they compare :)
Much appreciated comment, thanks!

Not a bad site, what are your formulas for resistance and past opponents punch resistance? I'm a stathead as well.
Thanks, appreciate it :) . If you click on any of the statistics headers it'll take you to an explanation of how the stats are calculated in it's simplest form. It may need improving, so if you're not sure of anything, just let me know.
