Instead of Catchweight Demands...

What about catchweight bonuses? For example, Floyd offer a 3 milli bonus if Canelo comes in at 152 instead of demanding 152 with a 3 milli penalty. If catchweights were done like that I don't think they would have the negative connotation that they do. The negative concoction is because of not understanding what they actually do to a certain fighter , in here its just a number , its like PEDS in this forum its now everybody with muscles in on them , just like CWs its an automatic draining , reality is its fans arguing not boxing people chatting .

I know Danny green has those a few times at CW where his opponent received more money the lower he came in That's great. If you're forcing somebody to come under the weight limit for a title fight that's a ***** move but if you offer an incentive not a demand for an infight advantage you can defensively argue the catchweight away.

Or we could just get rid of catchweights all together. But perhaps your idea isn't so horrible. I think getting rid of them altogether is a better solution. force weight restrictions. I think it would stimulate competition in boxing as a whole.

i have my avys and sigs off...i didn't see the final reply until i hit submit judging from the username tho, my first instinct is that you're a margarito hater or something Actaully was a big fan, I made the name to make light of his accusations, and I thought it sounded cool. I'm latino so (floyd being the exception) I always root for latino fighters and support them. I really like European fighters too though and wish fighters from UK and Ireland and other countries got way more hype than they do, I am always looking for european fights to watch, it's a shame here in the US they push fighters from the US so hard when many of them are awful.
