I know people now expect GGG kills everyone in a few rounds at the most but I strongly feel the guy who gives GGG the most problems is Darren Barker.
Similar to the Rosado fight which I must say was a lot more competitive than I originally fought.
GGG has flaws like every other fighter & I think hes very limited despite his pedigree though that isn't to say hes not good and doesn't have a hugely effective style.
The problem is these guys either stand right in front of him or they're already broken mentally if not they are the second they get hit. You'll notice when he hits them & there balance goes, that isn't his power that is his opposition panicking. Sh1t scared of him.
Barker has a nice crisp right hand. He'd find a home for that all night.
I don't think GGGs footworks bad by any means I just don't like how he has ZERO head movement. I'm amazed nobody has picked up on how open he is for the uppercut - Rosado pulled the trigger and I think he certainly got GGG's respect a few times and GGG started backing up in straight lines.
Barker has all the tools to make it competitive and early on I think he makes GGG look very plain.
Hes rangey and uses his length very well, good speed, decent power to make you think twice about charging in. Hes got a good boxing brain.
He is leagues ahead of Murray, Macklin etc
Darren Barker created the blueprint on how to beat Sergio Martinez, he will create the blueprint on how to beat GGG!
I can also bump all the threads you made about GGG being overrated, dissecting his amateur record, etc. Who's really desperate?
But dat different doe...he's doing God's work doe
I think Martin Murray has the tools to beat golovkin. Remember where u heard it first!
Not from Darren Barker who said
" Martin Murray doesn’t stand a chance. I’m not being disrespectful to Martin when I say that, it’s just if you’re a middleweight you’ve had it."
And not from Murray, who said he'd need a baseball bat to beat him.
:lol1: Look at them with their pitchforks out
Still digging through everything I've ever written to try find contradictions. Still hopelessly searching for a wrong GGG prediction.
They are bumping threads with nothing but correct predictions in and actually them with the far out ones, that is how desperate they have become lol

No need to be mad when you get called out on your contractions to berate GGG
Typical pre Golovkin fight
Lets face it he is the bigger, faster guy. Hes better than anybody GGG has fought by a mile and hits a lot harder. Macklin can go 12 no sweat. Hes been in there with the best!
I always wonder with a guy like GGG if there is a plan B
It wasn't long back Macklin pasted Felix Sturm & gave Sergio who was still near his peak a very tough fight.
Anybody give Macklin a shot?
I ain't broke them down but I've got a good idea what GGG is about.
I guess I shouldn't be but I am surprised to see so many being rather dismissive of Macklin. I hope you understand Matthew Macklin is not a guy will get hit & get on his bike in full survival mode.
Everybody that has fought GGG has been there for a payday, they have, I'm not being harsh on him just telling it how it is, they have fought almost terrified. What will happen when this guy hits Macklin who will hit him back with something a bit more meaningful than a jab as if to say please stop?
What happens if he pushes GGG back?
What does he say after Golovkin smashes them doe?

I really wish sturm didn't destroy barker because I would've loved to see how Dan would've spinned it... but I guess he knew he wouldn't fight Golovkin since Hearn flat out said they wouldn't
A year later :
"Geale (who lost a very close fight to Barker and dropped him) sucks!"
"The entire middleweight division sucks!"
Quality bump man, lmao. Here's Barker's thoughts on the subject. Watch out, some poster will try to discredit them on account of his hip condition lol
“I don’t think Geale can hurt Golovkin,” said Barker, with a sigh. “He’s not a massive puncher and although he put me down with a body shot that was the only time I was ever hurt. Daniel is going to have to work hard and put it on him, but his biggest problem is the power. If he can take it then he has a chance because he throws so many punches, but I don’t think anyone can beat Golovkin.
“This guy is the total package and you have to be superman to take those shots. I hope Daniel doesn’t get stopped because I’ve spoken to him and he’s a really nice bloke, but I can’t see anything other than a late knockout.”
When speaking with Barker one gets the feeling that, like most of us, he sees something incredibly special in Golovkin who is the No. 1-rated middleweight behind THE RING champion Miguel Cotto. It’s not so much that he was solely writing off Geale, in essence the former titleholder predicted doom for the entire division.
Barker said, “There’s nobody going to bother Golovkin at middleweight. Gennady will have to move up because he’ll batter anyone at 160 pounds. Cotto would get annihilated and, in terms of British talent, Martin Murray doesn’t stand a chance. I’m not being disrespectful to Martin when I say that, it’s just if you’re a middleweight you’ve had it.

I thought Barker did waay better than Macklin against Martinez. I never understood why Macklin was praised for his effort against Martinez more than Barker. After a rewatch of the Macklin fight and getting over Martinez not looking as good as usual, the only rounds I gave Macklin were 4 and 5. It was at lot closer on the scorecards because of the bs knock down in the 7th. There's no comparison between the damage Barker did and the damage Macklin did. Barker broke Martinez' nose while Martinez' face after Macklin looked spotless. Barker also consistently landed clean punches through out the fight while I thought it was rare for Macklin to land anything decent. (made a highights vid of the Barker fight a while back) Even if you gave Barker less rounds, what he did in those rounds were more effective than what Macklin did. The problem was that Martinez did much less against Macklin than Martinez did against Barker. What Barker did in losing rounds rounds and what Macklin did in winning rounds makes me think Barker will do better against Golovkin than Macklin regardless of the Martinez scorecards.
Barker has been looking pretty good lately and I like the confidence he's showing. That confidence might bite him in the ass against a big puncher like Golovkin though. He'll likely revert to the way he fought Martinez, which will let him last longer. He'll still get goodboyed via bodyshot.
Hearn is clearly afraid/worried for Barker.
He has good reason to.
That was only in reference to his next fight, which is perfectly understandable with his long layoff and injuries. Going from Rotolo to Golovkin would be stupid. I'll think Hearn will be fine with a Golovkin fight if Barker beats Geale.
Boxing needs a new superstar, GGG might be it.
I never said Macklin would win I was more questioning if anybody gave him a shot and in fairness I think everyone expected a little more resistance. GGG did what he had to and won impressively.
I just feel hes so untested and I'm not sure there is a plan B.
Don't take this the wrong way and I am not comparing the two as such but anybody remember the crazy hype David Lemieux was getting? Another middleweight who was massively untested, knocking everyone out, he took a marginal step up against was it Rubio? He had no plan B and got iced.
Who was the one before him? Short, stocky guy who had about 20 first round knockouts and got mopped the minute he got hit back by some journeyman.
I'm not saying GGG isn't better than these guys but outside of his power, his ability to cut a ring off and such I personally haven't seen an awful lot and whilst that should be credit to him being good it is unquestionably a lot to do with the poor competition hes faced for most part. The jury is still out, at least it should be.
We haven't seen him have to go through any adversity.
I didn't expect more resistance.
I would have been very shocked if Macklin saw the second half of the fight.
I like Barker but he's looked vulnerable in a few fights before the Martinez fight.
Belghechem looked like he had him in trouble and he was a pretty moderate fighter. I think it's stamina issues more than poor punch resistance I'd imagine.
That shot that took him out vs Martinez was a bit of a strange. I've burst my eardrum playing football; it hurt but I don't think it'd be enough to stop a fighter in a world title fight. Dazza must have been exhausted more than anything. Didn't Froch burst his eardrum vs Glen Johnson?
Barker would get stopped too but it would take a bit longer than 3 rounds, Njam or whatever his name is would be a durable fight for GGG and Geale would be a testing style but I still would not pick anyone over GGG at the moment at 160 apart from Chavez jr.
Boxing needs a new superstar, GGG might be it.

I picked GGG to win and within 6 that thread was just some food for fought and that fight changed absolutely nothing. As impressive as GGG looks he is still hugely untested.
Macklin is a tough guy, a legit middleweight and it was impressive how easily he walked through Macklin don't get me wrong but lets not go overboard. Macks a decent guy but he isn't exactly a world beater.
Hes a solid Euro level fighter/bordering world level. Did I think GGG would walk right through him like he was nothing? No, but it didn't really come as a huge shock to me.
I'm not saying GGG hasn't the potential to be great I just think the hype is a tad premature and I feel Barker is the only fighter out there who gives this guy a good run for his money. I'm not sure if that says more for how good GGG is or how much the division sucks right now tbh

Dan I like you but you're not right on this one. Now you're calling Macklin a euro level fighter or something like that yet just a couple days before last Saturday you thought Macklin had a good chance and tools to beat GGG

Come on..
Barker uses his reach very well, I feel he can give GGG a real tough fight. Hes a solid technician who works behind the jab.
The guys who have hit GGG have stood right in front of him.
If Barker stays off the ropes he will do very well
Barker would not do a Rosado and return fire, he'll cover up and move off and stick him back behind the jab.
Don't get me wrong I think GGG is very talented, he looks a beast but there is flaws/traits there to be taken advantage of and I believe Barker has what it takes probably not too win but give it a damn good go.
Jab, speed, footwork, defensive awareness, ring I.Q, enough pop to command respect and the brain to stay off the ropes and not fight fire with fire. You do not stand in front of a guy like this trading hooks, he will put to bed in an instant.
