Broken rib, but Matt is fine. Proud of him for accepting that challenge. RT @thisisnotmark: @loudibella How's @mattmacklin doing?
That's some serious power.
bwahahahah
I was there Saturday and all I can say is that GGG has that "special" sound coming off his gloves. Macklin is a game, top 10 MW in anyone's book .As far as GGG "What he hits, he destroys." Can't wait to see my favorite fighter, Segio, vs this absolute monster. Legendary Nights better do a piece for that one !!! :boxing::boxing::boxing:
Hopefully at least one of them are against someone of higher quality than Macklin. I just don't see who rite now.
At middleweight, the only fighter not of Macklin quality is Sergio, who Golovkin obviously can't fight anytime soon. Golovkin will hopefully get to wipe out the rest of the pretenders before Sergio's ready.
We'll see how Quillin pans out as well, though he's with Golden Boy and Showtime so that fight isn't happening anytime soon either.
The first thing I said when I saw Macklins face. That wasn't a normal reaction to a regular body blow... something definitely broke.
Reminded me of Virgil Hill's reaction when your boy knocked him out.
When I saw Macklin's "Ah!" face once he got hit I figured something was wrong. But then I saw him doing interviews like nothing happened and figured I was wrong. Guess something did happen...

...how about Martin Murray next? Get rid of that pesky mandatory/interim champion.
I think theres a problem with TV networks and promoters for that fight , saw it on Macklin twiter not sure
Ricky Hatton broke Castillo's ribs with a body punch also. :boxing:
Raiymkulov broke Floyd's rib back in 2005. Aaron Tiger Wade seperated Sugar Ray Robinson's rib in sparring which postponed the Belloise fight.

U aren't the best fighter until u prove it and golovkin is quite a ways from doing that. Remember how spectacular bute looked against c level fighters, some of which were clearly better than anyone golovkin has fought. Now I think golovkin has it in him to be a phenomenal fighter, but I'm not as sold as most. I put a down payment on it but I haven't fully bought it.
well said!!! :fing02:
there's NOTHING to dislike about the dude's personality....he comes across as a "good boy" lol....dude just seems cool....he's the hunter in the ring and when he bust off shots, his prey literally react as if they were touched by REAL bullets....that sh1t is crazy!!! :lol1:
I wanna see him mix with Chavez Jr....I know Jr. aint gonna fall so fast.....Jr. is like Scarface.....at the end when he was taking shots in his crib...yea, thats Jr....GGG be coming to rock, Jr is known to be a stone(no pun intended) so that's a fight I would love to see....the winner can get King Maravilla
MW torch passing ceremony will be held if any of those 2 get the King in the ring.....I used to think Serg would run the tables on Jr again, but NOW...smh, I think the young bull catches up to him earlier next time around and GGG probably stops him as well atm.....Serg is still my dude and I'd cheer for him in those fights but I think he's slowing down....he's looking like food for the young bulls atm
The fact that he has a boyish face has nothing to do with his power. He seems to have heavy bones combined with a very strong core.
Incidentally, GGG is the first man to KO Bute.
Lol, yea I've seen the fight.
Read reports that he hurts heavyweights in sparring too but to look at him he looks like a choir boy?! Powerful bloke. Biggest mistake Matthew made was trying to punch him back

Actually, the ribs are a funny thing. Ribs can be incredibly resistant or they can be incredibly fragile depending on the angle in which you hit them.
I sparred with a guy about a year ago, hit him with a left hook to the body and fractured his ribs. It wasn't a gigantic break, it was just a small fracture but it was broke. Healing takes forever and it sucks to have that injury because you literally can't breath, sneeze, take a sh1t....nothing.
It just all depends on the angle you hit the ribs at.
Insane power. Never heard of a body punch breaking ribs, a body kick maybe, but not a punch. Dang.
